We live in Oakland. We were in Milpitas for some work and stopped at this place for a late lunch. Gosh such a delightful find and we were pleasantly surprised by our dinning experience.

Everything was beyond our expectations.

Service was excellent. Ruth, our server, was a gem. She was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Knew the menu really well and recommended great vegetarian dishes.

Food was delicious and flavorful. The portions were more than generous. We are vegetarians, so we got everything without meat and absolute loved them!

Loaded fries- crispy with loads of cheese and bursts of flavorful toppings. 5 Stars!

Cheese enchiladas- mouthwatering flavors. It came with rice and beans sides. 5 stars

Vegetable wet burrito with half red and half green sauce. Yummy, but we enjoyed the other “cheesy” dishes more. So, 4.5 stars.

Cheese cake for dessert. 4 stars

Margarita was strong and delicious 5 stars!!

Ambience is super cute and gives you an experience of a traditional Mexican cuisine!

We loved everything. Wish we lived closer. We will definitely make sure to stop by whenever we are in the area!

A must try Mexican restaurant. I would rank casa azteca as one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Bay Area especially for vegetarians.

We started off with the freshly prepared chips and salsa (warning: salsa is very spicy ️ !).
Enchiladas were filled with the perfect amount of cheese and veggies, smothered with green sauce and drizzled with cream. The fajitas came in sizzling hot with a variety of seasonal vegetables on top of the regular bell pepper and onions. The tortillas were soft and fresh to the table.

Overall all the orders were perfect. Look forward to trying other options from the menu.

Food & Ambiance: we randomly found this place and surprised by interior decoration. It’s very homey and also colorful. The food tasted GREAT. We were really full so we planned to bring the loaded fries home but it was so good that we kept reaching for it. The tacos I ordered with steak, shrimp/ fish and chicken, amazing! They have some different types of burritos and the one we got is surprisingly filling and refreshing!

Service: all of them are so warm and welcoming. Very helpful whenever we raised our hand for water or boxes.

Would definitely want to come again!

A gem in a crowded place. A hidden local eatery. U can tell it is old school on the waiters. Luv it. I had the fish with Spanish rice. We made it family style. Chicken quesadillas, carnitas meal. Good quality with excellent service.
As always post wherever u end up. You never know the gem awaits u.

The host was not welcoming at all. The waitress was great. The atmosphere was BEAUTIFUL. The food was so so sad. Lackluster. Disappointing. Flavorless. I ordered the tostada compuesta and it looked like slop. It was a big pile of slop on a soggy tostada. There was no crunch. I couldn’t even pick it up because it was soggy.

The “street tacos” had absolutely no flavor. The tacos were not street. The tacos were suburban, white picket fence, Pomeranian, boiled chicken breast tacos. The meat was dry. There was no flavor. The tortillas were steamed I think…

The chili was missing the chili. It slightly ticked my tongue as if to mock me for expecting spice.

And the horchata though fresh was more like horchata infused water with a hint if cinnamon.

Their shrimp was good. The fried chicken wings were good.
Their serving size was also generous. I advise them to be more generous with the flavor and less with the quantity. Taste matters over quantity.

I was here maybe more than a decade ago and I’m so glad that I visited again today!

We were greeted by the manager I believe with a big smile and seated us right away.

The waiter took our drink order and delivered within 5 minutes.

Then we played our order and also quickly brought to our table. The portion and the taste was amazing, I specifically love their carnitas, so sold and flavorful!

I will surely come back for more. They also have good size of space can accommodate large party and special events!

I would stay away if you want actual mexican food. Went to this restaurant before heading to the 49r vs Bears game because it was right next to me. Honestly food is ok but not amazing. My plate was blazing hot(burnt myself) for just ordering eggs, rice, and beans. My brothers got something else and it was the same. Aqua frescas are not good either. Watermelon fresca taste like minute maid and the horchata taste like unsweetened rice water. Food took over an hour(was nothing complicated)to get when the restaurant was almost fully empty. Not blaming the waitress at all, just the cooks. Waitress was actually very nice and understanding. The reason for such high star reviews is due to milipitas not being majority hispanic based. Your better off eating at taco trucks or going to Stockton haha.

Thanks to our friends, we visited this amazing restaurant. My son was amazed with the name and kept thinking about the colonial era. He enjoyed the wall paintings. I would say, we all did as well. Beautiful!!!!

Let’s get to food. I ordered shrimp fajitas which was delicious and generous portion. The refried beans and tortillas were okay. For the first time, my daughter ordered Mexican pizza. Not sure, if she’ll ever order again. And to my surprise they had chicken wings on the menu. It’s a Mexican restaurant. My son ended up getting chicken wings but it had no Mexican flavors. My husband ordered pork fajitas however he found it dry.

Customer service was great. Yesterday was National Margarita Day. We did celebrate by ordering house Margarita’s which delicious. Totally recommending the margarita. And try the guacamole dip. You will love the crunchy chips.

Overall, awesome experience.

My family has been going here for years and whenever I’m in town, I take the opportunity to go. The service and food are stellar. The servers are recognizable and have been there for years–they’re always so polite and friendly. I always get the enchiladas there. The emojis sauce is the best I’ve had! They always serve chips and salsa upon seating you and the salsa is nice and spicy. If you want traditional Mexican food at a sit down spot, this is the place to go.
