My wife had the chicken enchiladas and they were quite good. Restaurant was clean. Service was good. The remarkable table in the middle of the restaurant has to be seen to be believed. It’s out of a solid. Apparently 8-ft diameter, tree. Restaurant offers a small dining area and a large one as well as outdoor seating. Pricing was reasonable too. Even, given resort area, at bargain. Definitely worth a try but be prepared for very spicy.
The margaritas are offered in all sorts of fun flavors and delivered in cute glasses. I had the spiced watermelon margarita and it was great!
I also had the carne asada. The meal was good. Nothing major to write home about except it was the better of the cactus I have tried. I tried my husband’s chipotle shrimp and it was top notch. Not too creamy like some of them can be and the perfect amount of spice. I’ll get it next time.
Service was fast and friendly. Atmosphere is beautiful!
We ordered: carne asada, steak fajitas, and chicken flautas.
CARNE ASADA
The thinly sliced steak was lightly marinated and perfectly salted. Very tasty on top of rice, beans, avocado, pico de gallo, and chambray onions. So yummy.
STEAK FAJITAS
The thinly sliced steak was similar to the carne asada dish, but more flavorful because it was grilled with tomatoes, bell peppers, mushrooms, and onions. Everything the steak was grilled with comes with it, where everything is just cooked in the same delicious juices making such a hearty and aromatic dish. The fajitas come with rice, beans, fresh tortillas, guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream.
CHICKEN FLAUTAS
Deliciously deep fried, rolled up tortillas stuffed with shredded, lightly seasoned chicken on top of a bed of lettuce with a side of guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo. I could easily eat a dozen of these. Sooo perfectly crunchy and the filling is not only heart but pretty flavorful.
Wished we had time to sit down and really enjoy our meal here, but the takeout was so impressive. Will definitely be coming back!
It was absolutely fantastic. Our server was very attentive and the food was 10/10. Honestly some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. My wife got the steak fajitas and the amount of steak they gave her was impressive.
I’ve tried just about every taco in the Sapphire/Highlands area and these are king!
The decor and restaurant layout and furniture is tastefully designed. The ambience was further enhanced with ear pleasing Mexican music.
We had complimentary salsa and chips. Chips are made in house. The salsa was fresh and yummy. What was better was our order of guacamole. The chips were so good we ordered a small bag to go.
My daughter and I shared a plate for two that contained chicken pulled pork thinly sliced steak and slab of Mexican cheese with Mexican style rice, refried beans and tortillas. The dish was very large and tasty and had enough leftovers for another meal. the Mrs. Ordered carne asada plate, meat portion was generous and tastefully grilled with mexican seasonings, her dish also included the same sides of rice, refried beans and tortillas. Both dishes came with huge smoked jalapenos which were tasty and the right amount of heat.
For dessert we had delicious generous sized Mexican fried rice cream that the three of us could not stop eating. It was demolished in minutes. The flan is probably the best I ever tasted.
Our server was Mary who we found out was one of the owners. We learned this was the third and newest location in the area.
We were not disappointed, and you will not be either.
