First time here, also my last, they were just ok, I love Salvadorian pupusas. I got the revueltas, the masa was dry and stiff almost like a thick tortilla, yea, chewy as hell, so disappointed and they are super pricey, two pupusas with hardly any curtido which is the cabbage dressing that goes with them, like 13 bucks. And I got two orders, just it’s they are so hard to find. Glorias at the rim, now those pupusas are soooooo good. Just FYI

Visited this place for the first time. Walked in and was quickly greeted by the man, who was the manager. He sat us down and asked if it was our first time? We said yes and he took his time to explain the menu and recommended a few dishes.

We ordered the Pupusas special 1 and a small pepperoni & cheese pizza with drinks (see photos).

I really enjoyed the pizza! It had a great taste and the cheese was melted just right! Each bite, would stretch the cheese and would have to cut it with my other hand! Now, that’s how a great pizza is supposed to do.

Server was attentive, informative, nice, and familiar with the menu.

Next time, I’m in the area, I will sure stop again!

Update Aug 2025:
Casa Amaya continues to please. Service, food, atmosphere all doing well. This time a party of 3x on a Sunday for lunch. About 1/4 full. No issues.

Been here several times now since they opened. Excellent offering of Salvadoran food. The owner and his wife are usually there to greet you and the staff is friendly. Pupusas and Tortas are our favorites, but we’ve had other excellent food too.

My new first choice – best pizza I’ve had in Boerne. Unexpected huge flavor with the suggested mix of toppings and excellent crust (and I am a really big fan of the pizza next door too but Casa Amaya won here today).
Picadillo pizza with red sauce, add jalapeños. I didn’t go there looking for this. It wins.

First time we visited Casa Amaya. We really liked it! Our server was super friendly! We liked the atmosphere of the place and loved the easy parking access.
The pupusas were delicious and the coffee as well. I tried the Salvadoran quesadilla and this one was just okay. They were out of plantains that day but we got tamales de elote which were not the size I expected them to be. They were super small but at least they were tasty. My husband and I do think the food is a bit overpriced so we would probably not come dine in as often as we wish we could but overall, we had a good experience and loved the atmosphere especially with out little baby. Thank you!

If my stomach could write, then this review would never end because Casa Amaya is one of my number spots to take anyone and everyone that is passing through Boerne. The Carnitas pizza is my favorite pizza from anywhere hands down! Casa Amaya’s coffee is also my favorite. As a, self-proclaimed food and drink connoisseur, Casa Amaya gets 100 out of 5 stars (can you tell how much I love it ). Besides amazing food, if you ever have the chance to meet Wendy and Alberto Amaya, then you will fall in love with these amazing owners and their staff. Grateful, graceful, humble, professional, compassionate, and the best customer service are just a few words that I would use to describe the amazing people and service at Casa Amaya. Remember, they are now serving breakfast tacos!!!

I love this restaurant. True authentic El Salvadorian food. I had 2 pork papusas with rice, beans and cabbage on the side and it was extremely good. Best papusa I have ever had hands down. For desert I had the sweet plantains and a double espresso. Not only was the food spectacular, the staff is very friendly and nice
The owner personally greeted us when we arrived and then came to check on us while we were eating. Very nice man, we really enjoyed talking with him. I am really glad I found this place, it is a real asset pto the community. The restaurant was also very clean and the atmosphere was nice as well.
