The place is a difficult to find if you haven’t been here before, we drove past it 3 times before we realized it had an old sign above it.
I want to start with saying that I understand that all gluten-free bakeries sell it really fast and if you come here anytime past 12:00 it is debatable if you will end up being able to get what you want.
The biscuit bread was good but it was very greasy and it was pretty dense. I think the price was a little much for what I paid for everything but I totally understand that for gluten-free products you need to charge more.
I think that the biscuits were too dense and there was not enough meat on them. Additionally I think that Little Debbie heart cake that I had was probably one of the worst outside Coatings of whatever it was that I’ve ever had in my entire life. It felt wet and I did not love it. That being said I did absolutely love the cake and the filling part of it. I think everyone should try it out but I’ve been to way better gluten free bakeries before. I always waited like 25 ish minutes for my food that I did not expect to wait.
Low and behold, a place called Carving Rock Kitchen pops up. I was intrigued. Then I saw it. What am I talking about ? ” Gluten-free biscuits and gravy!” I haven’t had gluten-free biscuits and gravy in a long time. That made my mind up instantly. I jumped in my car and drove the six miles from my destination.
When I pulled up, I could only see a few parking spots along the building with meters. It was Saturday. Why would they be out so I took a chance.
Upon entering this small restaurant with intriguing local artwork, soaps, and other things for sales, it felt peaceful and homy.
I walked up to the counter and started looking at the menu like I always do, trying to figure out what I could eat that was gluten-free as usual. Like I have been everywhere traveling the country the last six years. I immediately started a conversation with the cool gentleman behind the counter. My usual, so what is gluten-free on your menu? I have a gluten allergy? The words that came out of his mouth I wasn’t prepared for. What was it? He said everything is gluten-free in this restaurant? My mind didn’t compute for a few seconds, then it hit.
Everything is gluten-free in this restaurant? Really? I started to tear up. Everything? Wow! My mind started to race, looking at the menu.
I absolutely asked for an order of biscuits and gravy. Then I got two cinnamon rolls, a biscuit with egg/ cheese/ beyond meat, and the tea with honey.
Let me tell you I was in total heaven. The food was so delicious and I was happily stuff.
This is my new favorite place to eat breakfast hands down.
If you are looking for the best gluten-free dedicated breakfast in town, here it is.
Tell them I sent you.
Don’t take my word for it. Go see for yourself!
The owners are from Hunstville, Alabama, and moved to Chattanooga for 8 months. They are both gluten intolerant and noticed not many options were in town.
