As always, this Carvel location is always my go to. Their staff is phenomenal, honestly the best out of all carvels I’ve gone to. I only order cakes from this location because their decorator is always on point when it comes to designing. My son loved his cake and so did everyone else. I’ve learned to just give a theme to the decorator because they always do an amazing job and I have come to trust and appreciate their creativity. And while the Icecream is delicious, this post is to mainly reflect the greatness of the staff and especially the decorators.

I usually like Carvel, but during my visit I noticed a hair in one of the ice cream containers. I didn’t get that flavor, but it was concerning and made me question the cleanliness. I hope the staff pays closer attention to hygiene in the future.

We have bought several cakes from here, both from the display freezer and custom made ones and it’s about time I wrote a review because the cake makers are absolutely brilliant and creative! Gave the decorates my ideas of what I was looking for for my son’s birthday, gave them full creative freedom to create, and they hit it out of the park! Super impressed with the creativity, details, design, and as always, amazing flavors! Thanks again for always creating the best cakes for my family’s milestones!

Excellent Carvel store, they offer so many options for ice cream cakes – all readily available. They also take custom orders if you want a special design or specific image printed on the cake. Service is fast and seating area is clean. Also has a small outdoor area right up front. Seems to be a popular spot as there is usually a line the times I have gone but the line moves quickly. Highly recommend for a quick scoop or ready made cake

I cannot emphasize this enough—I NEVER review establishments. This specific carvel location has changed this, though. I started coming to Carvel at the beginning of summer, and have never once thought of eating at a different location or ice cream shop. The workers are all incredibly kind, which is rare to find among such a young staff. They pay attention to detail too, never once has my (or the friend who introduced me to carvel) order been mistaken or completely incorrectly. Most importantly, the ice cream is plain delicious. It’s not too sweet and never leaves me feeling heavy after. Always such a treat, I am always door dashing from here!! I truly cannot speak to how amazing this establishment is, from the team to the cookie dough carvelanches. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Absolutely love carvel! I ordered a unicorn themed cupcake Icecream cake and it exceeded my expectations! Thank you to decorator who decorated my daughter’s birthday cake, she absolutely loved it and of course it was delicious.

I have more than 10 years being a customer to this Carvel location on S Summit Ave, Hackensack. Today 11/02/25 was not a good visit. I alway buy the same strawberry ice cream on a cup and a coconut on a waffle cone. A salesgirl I believe her name is Ivelise, was very disrespectful, I had to return my ice cream because it was too icy and the strawberry tasted funny. I asked for a refund, she did not stop talking back, stating she has been working for 3 years and that is how the strawberry ice cream is. I replied I was born before you and are you are very rude and disrespectful. The other co-workers were silent and respectful as always very polite. I have never had an encounter so bad at Carvel, great ice cream, I would still buy at the same place but refuse to be served by the young Miss Ivelse, because Respect is a fundamental principal of good customer service, and it is crucial to remain professional and polite, (don’t talk back) and listen. I travel from Passaic County to Carvel at Bergen County……….. Maintain good customer service because it matters to us the consumers………………………….

This is the second time ordering the Cake Mix ice cream from here and it tastes awful. Used to be delicious. I don’t know what the deal is but deserve our money back at this point.
