We stumbled upon Caruso’s after a long wait at a Mexican spot and wow, what a delightful surprise! This unassuming Italian gem may not look fancy outside but inside it’s charming. Lisa, our server, was a star and suggested the shrimp and scallops pasta limoncello – we almost licked the plate clean! The calamari and garlic bread starters were a hit, especially with my mom. Every pasta dish was a winner. Highly recommend for amazing food, top-notch service, and a cozy vibe! We will definitely be back if we’re in the area.

True hidden gem in treasure island. The most authentic Italian food I have ever had. The calamari is so tender and lightly crisped. The gnocchi Gorgonzola is to die for. But honestly I can’t choose a favorite meal, everything has been so good…. Very small place that makes you feel at home. Great wine selection, and even better lots of free parking.

Me and my husband we on vacation and decided to try Caruso’s. Little quaint spot. The server seemed overwhelmed and did forget our bread. The food was outstanding!!! I would recommend because the service was not horrible just not great. I would try it again. Just because the food was delicious. Bread was blah

In town celebrating our anniversary and picked this spot based solely on a Google search. I was lucky enough to make a reservation because the restaurant was full.
The entire staff was super nice and even though it’s a little cramped inside we still didn’t feel like people were on top of each other.
We got arancini for an appetizer at the suggestion of our server. For our meal, my wife got scampi, and I got penne Calabrese. Honestly, I’m not sure what I liked the most because everything was so good. I will say that the scampi had a lemony taste that neither of us was expecting and now I want to replicate that in my kitchen.
We were too full for dessert but we did take cannoli and tiramizu for later in the evening. I didn’t try the tiramizu but my cannoli was very good.
Not exactly sure why, but some menu items were not available. With that said, there’s plenty of tasty options on the menu.

Fantastic Italian food! Gnocchi Gorgonzola, linguine with clams, lasagna, and limoncello cake were plate licking good. Waitresses were kind and personable. Location is within walking distance to hotels and beach.

We recently visited Italy, and it was so refreshing to find a place that actually can cook arancini! Is a traditional snack in the south of Italy, and Caruso’s prepared it perfectly! This is a small restaurant that you will not regret to visit, amazing Italian wines, excellent creative dishes. Special mention to limoncello scallops and shrimp linguini!
It is a must if you love authentic Italian food!
And if Mellisa is your waitress, then you have doubled your fortune for the night!

This place serves pasta that other pasta aspires to be! My friend and I got the gnocchi for an appetizer in a rose sauce of spicy marinara and Alfredo. So delicious! The house made bread was delicious – toasty on the outside, soft on the inside. I got the lobster stuffed ravioli in a vodka sauce. The pasta was deliciously homemade. Best pasta I’ve ever had!

Updated 4.1.24: visited again and weren’t nearly as impressed this time. Food was okayish, in response to me telling the waiter that seafood risotto is oversalted( I didn’t ask for substitutions, just noted to she could pass it on the kitchen) she said that seafood comes from the sea and sea is salty. Ok thx for clarifying I guess. The atmosphere is still charming, and it felt nice to be back.
February 2022 :My party had an amazing Italian dinner! Place is styled just right, my shrimp and scallop limoncello was delicious, plenty of seafood and perfectly cooked spaghetti. Great selection of wines. Would love to come back!

This is it. You’ve found the authentic Italian place you’ve been searching forward. Every bite is eye rolling, toe curling delicious. The staff are extremely attentive and quick, friendly and helpful. We had the Lobster Ravioli and the Linguine Pescatore with shrimp. The lobster raviolli was absolutely amazing. Portions are perfect. For desert, we had the sea salt and caramel tiramisu. Just wow. My only regret is not coming here sooner. The best Italian food in the St. Pete area since Italy.
