HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Honestly I have no negative things to say! The build is BEAUTIFUL being right off the river too! If you want to be seated right away go down to the bar for itself seating with tables and actual bar itself down there! That’s where we went and the waitress was sweet inattentive to all of our needs! We got the pulled pork sandwich and the turkey club sandwich and they were really really good, would highly recommend but honestly the sweet potato fries were probably the best sweet potato fries that I’ve ever had and they were the waffle cut fries as well! They were extremely good, and we also got the ahi tuna wonton appetizer and that was well worth the money if they had like an eel sauce or some sort of sauce or even Wasabi on the side it would basically be just Sushi because it was that good!

Overall I had higher expectations for this place. The food presentation was very nice. Service was lacking. The salmon slider were cooked perfectly. However the burger and fish tacos were a bit over cooked. The view of the river and sound of the geese made the experience a bit better.

We drove 45 minutes hoping for a great steak, and while the food was good overall, it didn’t quite live up to Cartwrights’ butcher reputation.

I had the 10 oz ribeye with asparagus, sliced avocado, and corn chowder. The steak was tender and flavorful, but only about ¼-inch thick, no way to get a proper medium-rare on that. For a place known for quality cuts, the chef should’ve grabbed a better thickness. My asparagus was perfect, fresh, and well-cooked.

My wife had the steak bites linguine with “asparagus tops” (which turned out to be chopped stems) and a Caesar salad that she thought was too heavy on anchovy, I liked it but thought it needed more cheese. The linguine itself was excellent and cooked perfectly.

Good experience overall, but being served a paper-thin ribeye means I’ll probably think twice before making the drive again.

Take out order. Food was ok, but didn’t look good at all. Baked potato was over cooked, burnt in places, steak tasted ok, but didn’t appear to be 6 ounces. Broccoli was as iced cold and almost raw. My friend got the Alfredo with shrimp. The shrimp was good, but the sauce was sweet. Like someone sprinkled sugar on top of it. She didn’t finish it and ate it the next day and then got ill and threw up. I don’t know why we can’t have any consistency in restaurants in grants pass. Thought Cartwright’s had changes Taprock, but now not so sure.

I’ll start off by saying after reading some of the reviews we were going to pass on going here! After talking to the front desk attendant at our hotel though, we decided to give it a try. We were seated within 10 minutes at a table right by the window with a beautiful view. We started off a little apprehensive because under our table was fairly messy (which is why only 4 stars instead of 5)Our waiter, which I had seen on other reviews, was BLADE. He was very friendly and attentive! My husaband ordered the Blue Cheese Burger and I got the Fish and Chips. They were both very good and portion size was quite large. I don’t know why some of the reviews said they were small?? Those people must eat ALOT!! I ended up having to take some home! Oh we also got the Dynamite Rolls as an appetizer. They were a tad bit spicy for me but I am a wimp with spice so I would say to get them for sure because I was still able to power though them..lol..since they were so tasty! The drinks we got were tasty too. I got the Lavender Tart and my husband got the Havana Feathers. His packed a good punch of alcohol for sure. Mine was just right! All in all I would say to give it a try and make up your own mind. Maybe it’s the time of day we went? It was about 8:00 in the evening. Or maybe we just got them on a good day? Not sure but again we were pleasantly surprised with our food and service!! We would definitely return!

Pretty good overall. Brisket hash a bit greasy. Food was hot, biscuit soft, Benny had signature Cartwright’s ham. Totally dead on a Saturday morning. ‍♀️ Will try again in the summer, or for dinner.

It is hard to beat the atmosphere, service and food at Cartwrights. We were attended to and sat promptly by our server, Bee. We asked for outdoor seating. From our table under the shade umbrella we watched the Rogue River pass by. The overhead canopy of trees provided welcome relief from the sun that snuck in under the umbrella. I started off with a Bloody Mary that rocked. The Cobb Salad was a mountain of delight. The vast menu does not have have selections listed as vegetarian or gluten free options. The menu states that those customers with dietary restrictions or allergies are to inform their waiter or waitress. This restaurant has plenty of free parking and is wheelchair accessible with the help of an elevator. There is a wide variety of shareable dishes,, salads, and pub favorites such as mahi-mahi tacos, ribs and fries and fish and chips. Specialties are griiled salmon, fettucine Alfredo along with a wide selection of burgers and sandwiches. There is a garden burger, but it is not listed as vegetarian. This establishment is suitable for children, althouth the menu does not featue any kid’s selections.

We had the most laid back experience at the Tap Rock this evening. We arrived earlier than our reservation, and chose to sit near the bar while we waited for patio dining to become available. We were immediately greeted by Carlie with menus and some time. Tom, the bartender stopped by to check on us and took our drink orders. Blaine came in rather quickly to escort us to our patio seating, and our cocktails followed immediately. We placed our order and enjoyed the view, low music, and the general atmosphere of Tap Rock. Our appetizer, the dynamite logs, were absolutely delicious. Our entrees soon followed. I had the fish and chips, and my husband had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich, which was absolutely huge! Our meals did not disappoint. Service was on point. Food was amazing. Drinks were delicious!

The facility, the atmosphere and the staff were exceptional. We reserved the Board Room for a family celebration which was perfect. Chris, our waiter went above and beyond in taking care of everything that we needed. However most of the food items were lacking. I ordered the C.B.S.A Salad and it was disgusting. Lots of lettuce soaked in stringy pickled beets, a few sliced apples and strawberries, instead of candied pecans there were clumps of hard granola and the chicken was dried out like a rock. One of the young adults said my cheeseburger, I’ve had better. The burger was large but nothing special and the large portion of French fries were cold. Two people ordered the salmon and besides very small portions, it lacked flavor. Chicken tenders from Children’s menu looked like they had been reheated and were dry. The new “Cartwrights” Taprock should make the menu smaller and do what they do well. Maybe more of a supreme “steak and chop” or BBQ restaurant with enhancements. Less menu items and remove the items that the former owners did. Our family splurged for this event and coming to Taprock. We were expecting “wow”. Is it a cook/kitchen issue? You can do better. We know the quality meat, seafood and produce your markets have access too. Look at all of these negative reviews and make real change. Your responses to bad reviews are lackluster.
