Such a solid dinner spot inside Disneyland if you want something elevated without feeling stuffy. The ambiance is classic, warm, and very “old Hollywood,” which makes it feel like a true sit-down escape from the park chaos.

I had the Tequila Daisy and it was perfect light, delicate, not overly sweet, and super refreshing! One of those cocktails you finish way too fast because it’s well balanced.

Huge appreciation for how thoughtful they are with food intolerances. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, easy to talk to, and made the whole process seamless without making it feel complicated. I felt genuinely taken care of ◡̈

Food-wise, everything hit:
– Roasted winter mushroom & gnocchi. It was cozy, flavorful, and comforting without being heavy
– Roasted Brussels sprouts – crispy, well seasoned, and addictive (I could have eaten 10 plates of this)
– Sustainable fish cioppino – fresh, rich, and deeply satisfying! My partner and I loved the dish more than we even thought we would!

Honestly loved everything we ordered. The food felt refined, intentional, and actually worth sitting down for which isn’t always the case inside a theme park.

If you’re looking for a dinner that feels special while still being inside Disneyland, Carthay Circle is absolutely the move. Highly recommend booking ahead and taking your time here.

Carthay Circle is a contender for the best restaurant at Disneyland. It is hands down the finest restaurant.

They lean into seasonal ingredients harder than any other establishment on the property, and utilize more advanced techniques. This makes the menu absolutely excellent, and always interesting.

The standouts are the parker house rolls, served with a seasonal compound butter (the calabrian chili was my favorite), as well as anything that takes international inspiration. They know what they’re doing and respect the origin and the craft.

The wait staff is obviously trained in hospitality, though sometimes can feel stiff. But your water glass is never empty, and they are meticulous with the silverware.

Add all this on top of a beautiful location that pays homage to some of Disney’s earliest premieres in an elegant setting, and of course you’re going to have a great experience.

It’s hard to pick a favorite between here and Blue Bayou, emotionally; but Carthay Circle is absolutely technically better.

And as a side note, it’s the only place in either park where you can get an espresso martini made with real espresso!

Beautiful restaurant, excellent service, great Walt Disney ambiance! Our server was superb! We ordered $500 of food, ordering a wide variety of entrees from the menu: appetizers- rolls, Brussel sprouts, artichoke hearts. Main dish: prime rib, pork chop, ravioli, turkey dishes. Everyone in our party agreed—the menu was over priced, and the food was mediocre. Nothing was a wow for anyone. And we so wanted it to be! It was our Christmas celebration dinner! The food taste really was such a disappointment for our family. We would not recommend Carthay Circle to friends for the price.

Dominic! This is an absolutely wonderful restaurant with food that will blow your mind. Let me start at the cocktail! I had the best Old Fashion in the State of California, and third best in the world! The bread rolls and butter were unbelievably good! My pork-chop was the best I’ve ever had! The ambiance is Disney outside and upscale quiet restaurant inside. I lead with Dominic so I could say, he was absolutely wonderful. I took his advice for my main course and he helped me pair a nice glass of wine to accompany. He was perfect! Definitely recommend!

Having an ever changing menu is amazing and I love the unique ideas that go into each dish, but that doesn’t mean every dish will be a hit. Pork was best of the dishes along with the dessert.

Our server either James/Jason (don’t remember) was incredible through out the whole night. And other servers kept the magic of Disney alive by never allowing my water cup to be empty. Priced exactly how would expect of a restaurant located in the heart of California Adventure. I do prefer the view of Lamplight over Carthay’s beautiful historical decor.

I hate to leave a less than great review for this place but to be honest me and my bf were both a little underwhelmed. For the prices we paid, the steak and pork chop were not incredible. The rolls were the most disappointing. While both the meats were still “pretty good”, (like a 7.5/10) they weren’t worth the $70 and $55. I am glad I came for the experience, but I don’t think I would pay to come back. When we go out for a nice date night at home, our favorite steakhouse has unlimited steaks for the same price, and is way better. The waitress was very nice and the drinks were strong though!

BEST RESTAURANT IN THE PARKS

We have never had anything less than an exceptional meal here. They are great for food allergies and go out of their way to give impeccable service.

This was my first visit to this restaurant. The restaurant is very nice for an in park restaurant. While I realize that it’s supposed to be a finer option than Blue Bayou, my family and I still prefer Blue Bayou over Cathay Circle. The staff is very friendly and responsive.
We started our meal with the Oaxaca style braised short ribs. Everyone in my family enjoyed it. The Tetela was crispy and delicious. The meat was incredibly tender and well seasoned. The cheese and sauce really bright everything together. We ended up getting a second order. My eldest daughter got the grilled half chicken shawarma. She wasn’t super impressed by it. She let me try it and I agreed that it was nothing special. My younger daughter got the yogurt with granola and the rigatoni pasta. She enjoyed both. My wife got the hanger steak. I tried it and it was just okay. I got the special, which was seated tuna that night. That was fantastic. The dessert followed the trend of most of the rest of dinner and failed to capture our imagination.
For the record, nothing was bad, the service was great. It’s just that there are better options at lower prices points at the Disneyland resort. We will most likely try it again next time and see if other choices work better for our tastes.

I really wanted to love this restaurant and I was so excited to treat my family to a new Disney dining experience, but it ended up falling short in some ways.

I will say that it is a beautiful restaurant. I love the Disney history they honor and it really has a great atmosphere. Although I felt our waitress was nice, her trips to the table were few and far between. It seemed busy that night so that could have been part of it. I don’t need a waiter or waitress waiting on us constantly, but the waitstaff completely abandoned us for a long while to where I was sitting with my card in my hand to just give when they eventually came around. Again, everyone was kind, however we had amazing service this entire trip, but our trip to this restaurant was a low for the entire trip.

I also didn’t like where we were seated. Although we were located more in the center of the room, my chair was awkwardly placed where servers are zipping by and I felt like I was in their way.

I never have a problem paying more for excellent food but the quality and portions did not match the pricing. I’m even okay with smaller portions, but for that amount of money, those portions need to hit it out of the park and we just didn’t get that. It’s not bad food, but you walk away feeling as though it’s not very memorable.

What is memorable is the pricing. It’s so incredibly expensive for what you get. I knew it would be a pricey meal, but it didn’t feel good spending that kind of money for the experience and food we received.

Overall it felt like a restaurant trying to pretend to be a fine dining experience when it just fell short.

Felt like you were stepping into the 40s. Design of the restaurant breathtaking. Pictures of old Hollywood stars and a real historic feel.
