Was skeptical about the breakfast but seeing great reviews on Google. So we showed up on Saturday morning on our way to Kansas City and we had a great breakfast. She had to scramble. I had the biscuits and gravy and everything was superb.

I went here to eat the other day and the food and service was amazing! The waitress was super sweet and checked on me whenever I needed something. My biggest complaint is how hot it was, it felt like they don’t run the ac at all and it just makes me want to get out of there faster. But other than that this place is amazing

We were on an 18 hr road trip and stopped here based on Google reviews. From the outside this belongs on Diners, Drive ins and Dives. It doesn’t look like much. But the food and service was great and so refreshing during our Drive. Highly recommended. We will return should we ever be in Carthage again. So much better than a fast food joint. Loved the charm. Loved the staff. Loved the food

This place is wonderful. Not fancy, more like eating at grandmas house. The service is personal and friendly and the food is amazing. Just simple home style food that is delicious. The rolls are the best I have had. The portions are generous and the prices are great. My husband had the chicken fried steak dinner with 2 sides and a roll for $11. I had the hamburger (Salisbury) steak dinner with 2 sides with a roll for $12. We both left with half of one side and the entree. I also tried their chicken marina soup which is a delicious chicken noodle soup.

Our favorite place to stop for breakfast on the way home KC from floating on the Elk. Service was great, Tammy was awesome, kept our coffee’s filled. Food was ginormous & delicious as always. So if you need a place to eat going North or South… STOP!

This place is horrible. Not sure if they were just having an off day or if they are always that rude and inattentive…..BUT I think we had the worst possible server (if you want to call her that) in the place. They weren’t busy when we first got there and I still had to get straws and napkins for us. The hostess that seated us was nice enough but then we got Miss crabby to take our order. She had a horrible attitude…..and didn’t check on us the entire time we were there. There was a large group that came in and one of them was talking incredibly loud to a table behind us. We waited 30 minutes for the check and then were told by the not so nice server, “You’ll have to take it up front because I’m entirely too busy”. We could have left sooner if we had’ve known that she wouldn’t take it. That was definitely a one and done stop for us. We will not be back. As for the food…..the chicken was stringy and the fries were not that great. I highly recommend NOT stopping at this restaurant. Worst service ever.

We eat in Carthage often when there for horse shows. Looking for something different we tried this family restaurant. It was just what a family restaurant should be. Home cooking with a blue plate special feel. Nothing fancy, just good food with great service. We enjoyed our visit and we will go again.
