Carson Kitchen is a solid spot in downtown Las Vegas with a fun, lively atmosphere and a creative menu. We ordered the tempura green beans, pork belly, gyro tacos, and the potatoes bravas. The clear standout was the pork belly with the Buffalo blue beurre blanc. It was rich, flavorful, and easily the best dish we had.

The other items were good, just not quite as memorable as the pork belly. Overall it’s a great place to check out if you’re exploring downtown and want something a little different from the typical Vegas spots.

We have eaten here once before, so we decided to do it again. The food wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t what we thought it would be. Maybe our expectations were a little high from our first visit. But this time, we ordered the Gyro tacos, Tempera Green beans, Warm Apple Spinach salad, and the Mushroom flatbread. I must say, the best dish out of them all was the Spinach salad. It tasted like an actual apple pie. The gyros tacos were pretty tasty too. We were big fans of the Mushroom flatbread. The cheese they used didn’t taste too good. The green beans were a little oily, but the sauce that came with it was good. Everything else about this place was good. It is downtown, so you do have to pay for parking, but other than that, I would recommend eating here if you are in the area and are looking for a place to get a quick bite to eat

Why, why, WHY did I wait so long to come back to Carson Kitchen?

This place has officially become one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Las Vegas — downtown or Strip. I first discovered it years ago during a New Year’s trip with visiting friends from Boston, and I still remember being blown away. After taking a year-long break from downtown Vegas, I recently returned… and instantly regretted staying away for so long.

Carson Kitchen is tucked away behind one of the most nondescript entrances in downtown Las Vegas. My limo drove past twice before I realized the place was right in front of me. Hidden in plain sight — and I love that about it. Inside, the vibe is warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Downtown staff always feel more grounded than the Strip, but Carson Kitchen takes it to another level. It almost feels small-town — think Biddeford, Maine or Snyder, Texas — smack in the middle of Vegas.

Over the years I’ve come with everything from parties of nine (five kids and teens — the pickiest eaters on earth) to smaller family outings. Every time, the food hits. Here are the essentials:

⭐ Must-Order Dishes

• Bacon Jam
This is next-level. Served sizzling with a strip of baked brie running through the middle. I’ve had bacon jams all over the country — this one is truly artisanal. An automatic order every time.

• Fried Chicken Skins
My whole family demands two orders right away. I grew up partly in Indonesia where this is normal fare, and Carson Kitchen nails it. Crunchy, savory comfort food with smoked honey dipping sauce. If you’re a chicken-skin person, this is heaven.

• Pork Belly
My wife’s forever favorite — perfectly rich and flavorful.

• Deviled Eggs
My oldest son insists on these every visit.

• Chicken Thighs
A recent new favorite. The charred chicken pairs with an Alabama-style mustard BBQ sauce that brings way more depth and complexity than expected. This is joining the permanent rotation.

The Finale: Glazed Donut Bread Pudding

The absolute showstopper. If dessert could be described as soft, bouncy, moist, warm, creamy perfection — this is it. I’ve said it before: we could’ve ordered nothing but nine of these and everyone would’ve been thrilled. Still my top dessert in all of Las Vegas.

Final Verdict

Carson Kitchen delivers consistently fantastic food, warm hospitality, and a downtown vibe that’s casual, elevated, and refreshingly genuine. After coming back recently with my family, I’m kicking myself for staying away for a year.

Highly recommend — and I’ll be returning regularly.

Definitely recommend a visit to Carson Kitchen if you’re looking for great food off the strip. The food and cocktails here are excellent! I definitely recommend the “Devil’s Eggs” and the “Killer Shrimp.” The “Crispy Chicken Skins” are also very delicious. You will not be disappointed!

An amazing find! We dined on the patio in very relaxed and casual atmosphere. The patio is large an even has an upstairs area. Plenty of tables that seat 4 or pull up a chair to the large fire pit and relax with a drink from the bar. We had the short rib steak which paired well with the creamy mac and cheese. The steak is small but oh so juicy and tender. The mac & cheese was creamy and did not have an overwhelming cheese flavor. Just perfect! We finished off with the bourbon fudge brownie.

Waitress was very helpful and attentive. I forget her name but she’s blonde and I remember her saying she’s from an island. All the food we had was really good, I just wish they served the oysters in half dozen or a dozen instead of only 3. The outside looks a little suspect but once you’re inside its worth it.
This is a little hidden gem.
Prices are not too expensive “but”, certain dishes are a little over priced seeing that the portions are small.
The question you all want to know…Will I come back?…The answer is yes! Not only will I come back, I will bring my friends and family here when they come visit.
Right off Fremont street so once you eat add drink, you can go on a nice walk and get some good pics.

Went here with friends for my 50th. birthday. Food was pretty good and with a service to match. Atmosphere wasn’t bad but not great. Kinfa family oriented I guess? But again, great to just go there to eat in supposed.

Tempura green beans were the bomb and the desserts. Fruitcake buckle sounds like a terrible idea, but was our group’s winner! Shortrib steak was terribly fatty – couldn’t fully chew any one piece! Pork chop overcooked but still very flavorful. Burgers were great.

Even though I had a reservation, I still had to wait about 10 minutes after arriving. Among the dishes I ordered, the bacon burger was pretty good, but there were no vegetables in it — no lettuce, pickles, or onions, just the beef patty, cheese, and bacon. The staff were friendly though.
