The Carriage Inn started as a store, then became a speakeasy. After Prohibition, it became a legal tavern. The current ownership is in its 39th year of business. When The Carriage Inn was purchased in August 1982, one of the things that were removed was the old wooden butcher block counter in the kitchen, which originally came from the mess hall of the Nike site located in Elizabeth Township.

Seeing so many positive reviews I decided to go there for the first time. Sorry to say my experience was not as good as others. The service was out of 1 to 5 star a 2 star was the best I can do. I’m not going to go into details about service except that it wasn’t good.
The biggest problem I had was the food. I craved a fish sandwich after having one somewhere else the day before and compared. The menu here said “fried to a golden brown” – it should have said “burnt to a crisp”. There was very little fish in the filet, it mostly burnt batter. And the fish itself wasn’t flaky and moist, it was more like jerky and required long chewing. I wanted to send it back but the waitresses seldom came even near to us and seemed to run by when they got close. So I wrestled through it leaving most behind. This was actually the worst fish sandwich I ever had! There were other food issues, it was tolerable at best, but not terribly bad. It was enough to say I don’t think I’d go back, may be once more but NO FISH SANDWICH!

We walked in on a random Tuesday night, there’s a sign that says seat yourself. After walking around trying to find a seat, we ended up having to sit at a dirty table that hasn’t been cleaned off yet. As we were sitting at the dirty table for 20 minutes without anybody approaching us, we started Googling for other places to eat but then finally somebody came and cleared the table and gave us menus. The “specials” menu had a lot of the same menu items, so they weren’t actually specials at all. When we ordered, they said that the Mac and cheese on the menu was only available on Fridays so we had to pick other choices. The waitress kept upcharging the sides without telling us there was any extra cost. When we got the food, the sauce on the fried steak was disgusting, the meats were just all fatty, and the baked potato was the smallest potato I’ve ever seen. Some food was okay, but definitely not worth the price. Will never return and I don’t recommend others to go. Service is bad and the food is just not worth it, especially the specials which are just the normal menu price.

Our family had Thanksgiving Dinner ordered and picked up today. Everything was delicious! The turkey was so moist we didn’t need to use a knife. It was not pressed turkey but sliced turkey breast. The sides were perfect. Our favorite was the sweet potatoes and the mashed potatoes had real chunks of potatoes in them.

The service was fantastic! She was friendly, efficient, and patient with our table. I guess we picked the wrong day for a big group. It was their wing night. It was very busy. They had us sitting in front of the fireplace, which was very hot, and we were really crammed at our table. The appetizers were delicious, but my main course was a bit bland. I had the fettuccine with vodka sauce. It tasted much better as a leftover with garlic powder and parmesan cheese over it.

I love this place. Everything is pretty tasty. Wing night is my favorite. To get the wing night price you have to buy a drink, not a biggie. You get whole wings, but the drawback is that it’s only one time a week (Wednesday’s) and it gets busy. Also, some of the flavors you can only get on wing night. The best is the garlic ranch….YUM! I think I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and it’s all been great. This is a place where you want to come back to.

It’s so good that I have to recommend reservations for Wednesday wing night.
$1.00 whole wings on Wednesdays is a hard deal to beat – especially when combined with one of their disying array of homemade sauces. I also have to mention some of the best house made Bleu cheese I’ve ever had; I’ve had a lot of house Bleu cheese.
The stuffed hot peppers and stuffed Zucchini is certainly a crowd pleaser with absolutely incredible cheese pull and flavor.
Wednesday is also smoked meat night. The brisket sandwich is very tasty with an absolutely righteous house BBQ sauce.
Salads are fresh and generous.
Potsticker appetizer is pretty awesome, as is the bloomin onion.
Service is unfailingly on point.
Prices are what you would expect for very high-quality food and drinks.

Fantastic place! Have dined in a few times and each experience was consistent with the prior one… great food and service! Also, we had a party that Carriage Inn catered for us and wow… Holly couldn’t do enough for us to make sure the buffet was set up perfectly and that everything was in order.
