Carrreta’s is a gem on Olive Boulevard. We have eaten here several times, and they are always VERY nice to our small children. The food is good, with plentiful serving sizes. I’ve had better margaritas, but they are more than passable. The atmosphere is upbeat yet relaxed, and perhaps most amazingly, the restaurant is very clean — including the floor! (Look under the table at many restaurants and it’s disgusting – here they obviously take pride in keeping a clean dining room.)

I paid $18 for pollo tapatio for a takeout. I had really high hopes, but I regret coming here. I love flavors but the chicken was too salty. The chicken was sliced super thin which I’m fine but I only received two. I wasn’t happy mainly for the price I paid for it considering last year’s menu it was $12. The staff is super friendly and nice. I just had wished I had more portions that reflected the price I paid for. It’s definitely still edible, rice and beans were not bad at all!!

First time eating at this restaurant and I thought the food was delicious. The restaurant was furnished very nicely in modern décor. The staff was friendly and we were greeted by a smiling hostess at the front door. The booth we sat in was comfortable. The waitress was super friendly and was attentive to our needs. Once our orders were taken the food arrived quickly and it was hot and delicious. My fajitas were sizzling on the cast iron fajita plate. The portion size was just the right size; I was able to take some home to enjoy another time. The restaurant is good for families and large groups of people. The restaurant was easy to find and access from the interstate. Would definitely recommend this to anyone in the area looking for Mexican style cuisine.

I’ve only been here twice, but both times have been amazing. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with kind smiles and friendly faces. I got the fajita quesadillas and the flavor on the steak is mind blowing. The atmosphere, and the way they plate/present the food will make you think you’re at a 2 star Michelin restaurant. You can tell they care about the service they provide and the quality of the food. 10/10 would (and have) recommend this place!

Visited this restaurant for luncheon, I really enjoyed the Artwork. We ordered the house guacamole, it was very fresh and went great with the grilled shrimp plate. We shared churros for dessert and they were delicious

Best Chile Relleno in St. Louis. We have eaten here several times and keep coming back for the Chile Rellenos. It is such a difficult and labor intensive dish to make and they do a wonderful job. The flavors and textures are just right. Salsa is also excellent. We also had the tortilla soup which was delicious and even better reheated the next day for breakfast with a corn tortilla and fried egg floating on top. Ambiance was upscale and the wait staff very good. Will continue coming to Carreta’s.
