This reminded me of Iwakuni and Hiroshima Japan! The authentic atmosphere/ environment was welcoming! The staff was kind, courteous, friendly, exciting and very helpful! The menu was great! I could’ve eaten the okonomiyaki three times a day for my entire two week stay. Why didn’t I you ask!!!! LOL, we didn’t find this gem until 2 days before we left the island so I could only get there twice!! LOL The food was delicious and the okonomiyaki was heavenly!!

Very good food

Karage was top three I’ve had. Very juicy with a light fry.

Beef tendon was good, sweet, tasted reminiscent of a polish sausage.

Okonomiyaki was terrific.

Yellowtail tasted fresh. The skewers were all good! Very reasonable prices and the staff was kind and attentive. Wait was 30 mins but there was limited staff.

Hubby and I decided to stop by here for dinner after a workshop. They were quite busy. This place was really.noisy tonight. The food was okay this time around. Hubby got the Tempura Value Set and Hiroshima Ramen. The Tempura was too greasy so we took it home to air fry some of the oil out. He liked the Hiroshima Ramen. I got the Paitan Shoyu Ramen. It was really salty. I only ate the ramen and did not drink the soup. I kept drinking water when I got home. Maybe those was an off day for the chef. We enjoyed the food here before and will definitely come back. The staff are very nice and service was great.

My first Japanese restaurant on Oahu was a complete disappointment. The skewers were nothing like the ones in Japan. They were incredibly salty, and I wonder if this was to sell more beer or something. Also, the draft beer machine seemed uncleaned, and the draft beer tasted sour. Very disappointed. Don’t waste your time and money here. Not worth it.

Stopped by for a simple birthday lunch, good food, and friendly service. We were there early so they took a longer time to prepare our food, no complaint about that, we spent our time chatting. Im not a big fan of salmon sashimi, to my surprise, theirs actually really good.
Yakitori are superb with many selection of choice.

I must say the skewer is just average. I do not know why there are so many good reviews. The beef is dry and the chicken liver is not well done so it is a bit fishy smell. The beef tone is also rough… the chicken wing is well cooked but only salty flavor. the meat ball is actually good. A takeaway is that the veggies turn out better than the all the meat we order. If you are a picky eater, would definitely not recommend this place. But if you must try, here are the goods and bads:
good: asparagus, mushroom, bacon with mushroom, edamame, chicken skin, chicken wing, shrimp
bad: beef tongue, beef, chicken liver, tofu, meatball, chicken breast with veggie, corn

Loved the place that I went back twice during our 3-day Oahu trip.

Food – authentic! Also so happy they offered sweet sauced skewers and I enjoyed those so much. Wings were especially good, though generally skewers seemed more salty during the second visit and had less Teriyaki taste. Motsunabe so good too, very flavorful. Delicious small dishes as well and even rarer ones like raw marinaded squid that bursted out with juice/ink(?) in mouth, fried oysters and so many more. Loved the syrup-mixed chu hi like peach and green apple, would recommend more than lemon and lime. Also great price too!!

Atmosphere – looks just like a Japanese Izakaya place, cozy and nice. Also great that it opens til midnight and saved our stomachs on the arrival day.

Service – waitresses were kind. 8/22 late night lady was super friendly and smiling all the time, offering great customer service!! 8/24 7pm lady kindly helped get skewers all recooked after miscommunication on flavor, and gave good food reccs.

Had an amazing experience here while going on a trip. You can tell it’s a high Japanese restaurant when you walk in and they all are speaking Japanese… great food and service and view.

Good comforting food. We didn’t know about this place and wanted to give it a try due to the traditional looking entrance. We were surprised with the delicious food and amazing service. We at a fair pricing as well. We cleaned up our plates and ordered to go as well. We loved the chicken skins definitely our favorite. I am so glad to have stumbled on to this place and will definitely get more in a near future.
