6.8/10. In short it’s a nice little diner with greater servers and fast service.

The sausage were my favorite of what we got. The pancakes were soft and fluffy. I prefer it more on the firm and crispy side but these were solid. The French toast could have been more crispy as well to my liking. The homemade jam was great.
Cute restaurant to eat at, especially in this area.

First time visit with friends. Thu 1pm there was a 20 minute wait… but you get to look at all the wonderful baked goods! Pies, cakes, cookies and mmmmm! My wife and I split a lemon dessert, it was plenty for the two of us. Our friends split the blueberry dessert. They said it was great. For lunch I had half a chicken salad sandwich and tomato basil soup, great bread, and chicken salad. The soup was a water base not a cream (I like both) and it was great and tasted fresh. My wife had a small chicken salad and it looked good and she said it was good. Our friends had a taco salad and the other had a Rachel. Both said it was very good. We all agreed we will be going back to try other things. We agree with the high raiting, so good!
All the staff were friendly and made sure were good throughout the mill

Best comfort food in the Twin Cities!!! Everything is made from scratch. Friendly, efficient service every time! Today, we had vegetable hamburger soup with tender chunks of root veggies, fresh green beans, carrots, and celery was delicious. Hand-carved, hot turkey sandwich served on thick, home-baked bread, yummy dressing, mashed potatoes, generously covered with turkey gravy and a side of cranberries. A huge case of cakes and desserts to choose from. A must try if in the northern suburbs! Oh, on the way out, bought a rice crispy bar the size oh my head, lol.

Stopped in with a party of 7 at 5pm on a Saturday. They don’t take reservations and intimated that they’re busy on Saturdays at that time, so we arrived 15 minutes sooner to find a largely empty restaurant. They got our table ready and wanted to wait to seat us until the last couple arrived, but eventually the server said to bring us back which was good cuz we were kind of a loud group catching up in the entryway. Lol

We had a variety of food: the Fritter Monte Cristo Sandwich with hash browns (2 of us had this and I thought it was awesome!), Philly Cheese Steak with seasoned fries (good!), MN Hot Commercial Sandwich (meatloaf sandwich, kind of a mess but really good), Chicken Picatta (looked good but no comment to share from the eater), Turkey Dinner (dry turkey but the gravy helped), and the Pot Roast dinner special (I didn’t even see it but he ate it all so there is that).

Prices were reasonable. The food is homemade and I really like it, having tried the Monte and the Meatloaf sandwich.

We also had some of the desserts! Chocolate cake (she didn’t think it very flavorful), Carrot cake (good!), the strawberry torte thing that I had was overpowered by whipped cream – not impressed cuz it’s all I tasted.

I appreciated the live music but others in our group didn’t care for it. One comment for management: buy better ketchup, please. You serve all this wonderful homemade food and then buy the cheapest, thin, high fructose corn syrup ketchup available. Yucky

Otherwise, the server was excellent! I highly recommend this place, but skip the ketchup.

Came for breakfast with friends, a nice cozy atmosphere, good food, staff was friendly and great. It gets busy for good reason. I’m told the pancakes are the thing to get, guess I’ll have to go back!

Do I really need to leave another 1 star review before people realize how terrible this place is? Just skim the other 1 low star reviews and you will understand the risks you’re taking regarding service, food quality and originality. I personally would go to a breakfast fast food chain before coming here just for consistency reasons. DO NOT GO OUT OF YOUR WAY LIKE IDID TO COME HERE. YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED.

I had heard great things about Carol’s, and it definitely lived up to the hype! The service was quick and friendly, and the food was delicious. I had the eggs benedict, and it was perfectly cooked. It’s a great spot for a relaxed brunch with friends or family. Will definitely be back soon!

I love carols. This is me and my boyfriends spot! We do date night here. It’s very cozy and it feels like gram gram is making your dinner.

The turkey and meatloaf dinners are my go to when I’m here. There such solid large meals that you can really taste the love in.

The live music is nice but sometimes it’s a bit loud.

And this is definitely a old person hot spot with the nick-nack store attached but don’t let that push you away. The foods really good.

Carols was a good dining experience overall. The food had great flavor. I had the Alfredo with chicken. The sauce was runnier than. I am used to but again the flavor was great. I would recommend Carol’s as everyone I was with enjoyed the experience. Service was a little bit slow but the food was worth the wait.
