Came here because I kept seeing Carolinas on multiple best of lists. Mixed feelings, cashier was very meh, not good customer service. Restaurant itself was clean but dated. Food is served in plastic containers with plastic forks and knives. Made eating my Chimichanga a bit challenging. Food itself was really good, especially the Machaca in my Chimichanga, it was moist and delicious. Shell of Chimichanga was also really good, crispy and fresh. Beans and rice were good but not great. Wife’s Cheese Enchiladas were also good but not great, tortillas were chewy/crispy, sauce was really good. Chips were ok, salsa was very watery. Recommend only because the Chimichanga was outstanding.

I drive by Carolina’s every week so finally stopped in to try it for a quick dinner to go. The gentleman at the register was so kind and helpful. I ordered a machaca burrito with added beans and green sauce. The wait wasn’t bad, and I don’t mind waiting when they’re making things to order. The meat was super tender and delicious and the tortilla was so squishy & fresh that it was difficult to eat in the car. Luckily they had given me a plate. It appeared they only had one kind of hot sauce, but it was very flavorful and not scorching hot. Nice that they keep the containers on ice. The place was very clean, especially the women’s restroom, and the prices were reasonable. I will definitely return to try more of their specials.

Good for toning your jaw, the meat here is extra tough and dry which allows you’re cheeks and jaw to exert extreme strength, amazing workout, I caution it’s hard to swallow so make sure you really chew through it, tortilla is flaky dry, dry meat, dry tortillas, amazing for your jaw line, oh and the lemons are cut extra thin so that you can squeeze it on everything except your food, I guess it’s a make it or break it for them

It can be a challenge to find a good hard shell tacos since relocating to Arizona and Carolina’s is my fix! The seasoning, crispness and the salsa.. the salsa ya’ll! This is a keeper! Also my first time having the red Chile burrito and that was a 10! Is it wrong to have the same meal 2 days in a row? Because I just might. It was that good!

Carolina’s Peoria location has become my new standard for Great exican Food. Make no mistake this organization commits to employees, thier family, and faith by closing everything on Sundays which many restraints consider 20+% of revenge. They don’t try to over excite or fancy up what is already great dishes. THEY JUST SHOW UP AND DELIVER CONSISTANTLY GREAT PRODUCTS! From their renowned tortillas so feather light you better wrap your burrito twice. Word for the wise who appreciate tortillas order one on the side with butter! All the dishes are exactly the proper and delicious food made for generations of familys at home but with the conscience of reasteraunt service.

I ordered a beef chimichanga. The meat was extremely dry and too tough to eat. It chews like a wad of paper. They only give you a tiny pinch of lettuce on the side… not even a mouthful. All in all… the food is very disappointing. Not worth the price they’re charging. But, the service is terrific and the atmosphere is moderate.

I’ve seen this place many times but never actually went in. Today it was really busy when I was around, so I figured today was the perfect day to try it. Not as exciting as everyone says.
My chicken soft taco was delicious, I did think it was odd that a shredded chicken taco came in a strip, but amazing taste nonetheless.
The carne asada burrito was a decent size, tortilla was huge but the ratio of tortilla to stuffings actually worked perfectly. My issues were the taste in this one. They didn’t drain the meat, so it was just pouring out. The meat the wasn’t soaked in grease didn’t have any seasoning, just unflavored cooked meat. I was kinda bummed because the price point is pretty good compared to other similar restaurants.
I ordered an individual side of chips but was charged for a small. I don’t know what either should look like but I’m fairly okay with what I got for the price (good sized bag, probably just an error on hearing the size, it feels right but needs mentioned)
The salsa bar area, only had one kind… Red peppered. I figured they’d have at least 2, ya know?
Nice set-up for seating, plenty of tables and room. They bring you your food after ordering at counter. Decorated beautifully from what I could tell (but I was more focused on eating )
I might go back again just to see if it was an off day with the carne, otherwise it’s probably not going to be our place anytime soon.

Me and my family eat at Carolina’s regularly and it’s one of our favorite places to eat! Carolina’s is the most unique Mexican restaurant, the food is one of a kind and it easily separates itself from the other Mexican food restaurants! For instance the green corn tamale you won’t find anywhere else and if you do it won’t compare to Carolina’s. The whole atmosphere at Carolina’s is amazing, with a wonderful staff of employees who always make sure you’re getting the best experience! Jamie in particular is one of the best, she is always very pleasant and makes sure our food comes out the way we want it, without a complaint! We will continue to eat at Carolina’s, thanks for being amazing!
