My entire family was impressed and they are not at all easy to impress, so I had to take the time to leave a review. I’m more surprised by how many 1 star reviews they have, but that was not our experience at all. I was relieved to see that it wasn’t the type of place that just has an aesthetic front, everything else was top tier too. First off, Dani our waitress was amazing! We really appreciate how welcoming and enthusiastic she was the entire time. Also, she ran out to us in the rain (without an umbrella or coat, poor thing!) just to get us the leftovers we forgot at our table. The staff also sang happy birthday to my brother, a long but very celebratory rendition of it, thank you to the staff! Last but certainly not least the food was delicious and good portions too. Definitely nice to have this type of place in the area. A little on the pricey side though, but a great place for a nice dinner. The music was a vibe too.

Just took a shot at getting a table for 2 on Valentine’s Day (before 5pm), and it worked out. The food was very good, the service was top notch (Big Shout Out & Props to our server Ms Truth), and the music that was playing was great. We had a 15 minute wait for a table, and when we were seated, Ms Truth was on point. For starters we ordered the crab and collard green dip and fried okra, both came out fresh and hot. My wife ordered short ribs with cabbage and mac and cheese, and I ordered Cajun fettuccine with shrimp and chicken (but it was penne pasta noodles) didn’t matter, it was STILL GOOD!!!! I would recommend the spot, but I would also recommend calling ahead or doing a reservation. Good food, good atmosphere, great service

We came about 5pm so it wasn’t very crowded at that time and we were seated right away. Very nice atmosphere with jazzy r&b playing that was loud enough to enjoy, but low enough to hold an intimate conversation. Our server was Eric and he was great! He checked on us just enough w/o it seeming overwhelming. Food came out super hot and freshly made. The portions were large and filling. I had the whole fried snapper w/collards and potato salad. I’m not a fan of sugar in my greens but this was slight, smokiness and spice made up for that and I would order them again. Potato salad was good -there’s no relish or pungent mustard taste so if you prefer yours that way, take note. I like mine either way. My honey got the oxtail dinner which came with Mac n cheese, cabbage, rice and plantain-more than enough food. We also had two starters; the chargrilled oysters were dee-lish ! We also tried the crab dip which I believe has a little greens in it. That was pretty tasty but the oysters were my favorite . We were too full for dessert but we did stop next door to visit their beautiful wine and spirits store! This store boasts black /African owned/branded alcohol front and center but also sells all of your favorites too. There was a tasting in store of a Cameroonian coffee brewed in store by the owner! It was so good I had to purchase some. He made me some K-Cups in store which was ideal because I only have Keurig. They sell it regularly but he is only site for tasting on the weekend, so I am glad I got to try it because I may have passed up this gem. We also bought a bottle of Teremana Blanco tequila (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s brand). We will definitely be back to visit both again in the near future!

From the moment I stepped into Carolina Kitchen Sea & Soul, I was completely blown away. The décor and ambiance were immaculate, as it was a perfect blend of Southern elegance and modern sophistication. Every detail, from the lighting to the artwork, created an inviting and uplifting atmosphere that set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience.
The staff was exceptional – attentive, friendly, and incredibly accommodating. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and treated with genuine care. The team anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, and the level of service was truly top-tier. A special thank-you to Manager Kinlaw, who went above and beyond to make sure every part of our experience was seamless. His professionalism and hospitality were unmatched.
We even had the pleasure of meeting Chef Moss, who graciously came out to chat with us. It was wonderful to express our appreciation directly, because the food was absolutely phenomenal. The Fried Snapper paired with greens and mac & cheese atop a bed of black-eyed pea-infused rice was extremely mouthwatering – I would describe it as comfort food elevated to perfection. The Branzino was equally impressive and was my favorite, hands-down: flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and truly food for the soul!
What makes the experience even more special is that the restaurant is connected to L. London’s Fine Wine & Spirits, a beautifully curated space featuring exclusive and affordable selections, with a proud spotlight on local and Black-owned brands. Both spaces are immaculate, thoughtfully designed, and exude a sense of pride and purpose that’s rare to find.
I honestly can’t say enough about this place – the food, the service, the music, the artwork, and the energy all come together to create something extraordinary. Carolina Kitchen Sea & Soul is a true gem in Bowie, and I can’t wait to return. Highly, highly recommended!

Joined a friend here for a birthday day and was instantly impressed with the decor and ambiance. They offer a line buffet with a variety of food choices until their full menu opens at 5p for dinner. The bar was beautiful and I love that they offer a range of black owned spirits and wines including one of my favorites, Arthur Wheeler.
The portions are HUGE – I had the Cajun stuffed salmon and rice, yams, Mac and cheese and had to try to fried whiting. Everything was really good. I’m not a big yam fan but these were DELICIOUS!! My friends enjoyed the fried catfish, greens, chickpea soup, cabbage, baked chicken thighs, and fried pork chops.
Our bartender Tay was THEE BEST! She was accommodating, friendly, and made some amazing drinks. The entire staff was welcoming and friendly. Their energy was high without being intrusive. I’d highly recommend visiting this location if you haven’t.
Tay mentioned they had a DJ a few days a week as well. The music they were playing was a whole vibe in itself from 70s-90s R&B with a good old school vibe.
This is a perfect spot for those who enjoy a good meal, drink and vibe with a grown folks. I’ll definitely be back! We enjoyed the enclosed bar area with plenty of tvs to catch the game, plus enough fire pits and fans to keep you comfortable.

I’m a huge fan of Carolina Kitchen ever since I was pregnant with my youngest daughter (she’s 19 now) so when I heard about the new in Bowie MD, I had to check it out.
The establishment is simply beautiful, the staff are very attentive and the food is amazing. We had the oxtails and fried chops with their award winning collard greens and mac n cheese. The portions were so large we had doggy bags and ate well again the next day! I can’t wait to go back and try the new, exciting seafood dishes on the menu!

The food was not all that good. I got the meat loaf with yams and Mac. The yams were good but the meatloaf and Mac was odd tasting. I also ordered a peach cobbler and when I got home I realized it wasn’t in the bag. The vibe inside was very nice but the food was not great
