The ribs were tender and delicious. The onion rings were excellent while they were hot. Eat them before they get cold. The Mac and cheese was fair so choose a different side. The hush puppies were very good. There is a variety of sauces so you can flavor your barbecue the way you like it.
The counter staff was friendly and helpful with understanding the options for ordering. When our food was ready they brought it to the table.
It’s a no nonsense dining room with “get your own drink” and clean your table when you finish.
The friendly staff wished us a good day as we left.
Party of 3 we had pork sandwich with coleslaw and 1 side (cheese curds with an up-charge, worth it), fried chicken fingers with tater tots and BBQ smoked chicken (breast & wing)baked beans, hushpuppies and potato salad (too much mustard for us). Loved everything but the potato salad. One of our favorite places to eat. Highly recommend.
There BACK open after Helene. We are so blessed. Foods as delicious as ever. Our party of 3 had ribs, pork & smoked chicken combo, and many delicious sides. They are still working on the music stage inside.
I always look for local places to eat when I’m away from home, and this one was a home run! The combo plate for lunch was wonderful! The flavor of the pulled pork and smoked chicken was on point, and their hush puppies are definitely the best I’ve ever had! Don’t forget the Maddog sauce on the side, you will not be disappointed!!
I really love BBQ. My husband ran a BBQ stand so I know good BBQ and what it takes to make it work. This was not it. The pulled pork was nice in some parts, others were hard and crunchy with very little if any smoke or pink color from smoke. My potato salad was crunchy as the potatoes were not cooked all the way through. The flavor was excellent, I just wish it had been cooked. The coleslaw was ok. The hush puppies were delicious and we ordered an appetizer of the fried cheese curds. Those were fried to perfection and delicious.
The staff were friendly and kind and while we were one of maybe 3 or 4 groups present, our food arrived quickly and hot.
The interior was nicely decorated for the style, but could use some new table cloths. Some were stained and faded while others looked new. The stage had become a storage area for overflow boxes of things.
Lastly I used the restroom. I only included a picture so you could see what I saw. The sink was so dirty. The ceiling was missing light covers and the vent was covered in some kind of black dirt. If I didn’t have to go so bad I wouldn’t have. It did make me wonder if this is the level of cleanliness in the parts of the restaurant you CAN see, what does the kitchen look like?
To the owners: please take some time to fix these things. We need good small businesses!
