We ordered Carolicious catering for a company event, as our employees have loved eating at Carolicious every day. I was greeted with a warm phone call helping me ensure I had the right amount of food for the group, and offering to come onsite and serve the group so that we could have custom made-to-order bowls. They showed up early and set up, everything was extremely clean and organized, their energy was infectious, and they brought extra just in case (which we did end up needing!) which was extremely helpful. It was the biggest hit all year, and everything was delicious. We will absolutely be inviting them back for more catering events.

Tried this Venezuelan arepa and what a comforting, flavorful bite. The shredded chicken was perfectly seasoned, the black beans added heartiness, and that creamy sauce brought it all together.
Plus, the warm, laid-back atmosphere made it even better. This place is definitely a hidden gem for anyone craving authentic Venezuelan comfort food.

First time to try Venezuelan food.

Bowl Pabellon Beef: Pabellon is said to be Venezuela’s national dish. Product from this stall was healthy, but not that authentic, or delicious for my Chinese appetite. As the core part, beef was absolutely fabulous, shredded and deep stewed to soft and tender, more on the savory and fragrant side, but also with a zing of tomato’s sourness and paprika’s spice, somehow similar to Mexican style. However, the black beans and banana were a bit overcooked, together with the salad dressing, mixed with the rice, making it overwhelmingly mushy, which was a disaster for me who love dry rice. I have checked through Google and ChatGPT that all ingredients should be placed separately, and obviously, pico de gallo should not be in there.

By the way the food stall is located in a pub or something, where all people were crazily yelling. It is insanely chaotic so you’d better escape asap to protect your heart.

This amazing hole-in-the-wall has been one of the highlights of restaurants we have tried in the Cambridge, MA area; from their fun, savory handheld arepas to their hearty bowls. We heard about this restaurant by word of mouth, and I can see why. This restaurant is tucked away in a corner of the town and down an obscure road that no one would find. This unexpected hidden gem is well worth your time!

We ordered the Pelua (spiced beef + cheese) and Pork + Pico de Gallo Arepas as well as the Pork Pabellon bowl. The Arepas were fantastic! The beef + cheese arepa satisfied those salty/meaty/cheesy cravings while the pork + pico de gallo was more refreshing. We loved both of them so much. For people who don’t know what an arepa is, it is like a taco sandwich (analogies won’t do this description justice, just try it). With either pork or beef sandwiched between a cornmeal “bun”, the arepa is a fantastic and fun dish that I think people will enjoy!

The bowl was a surprisingly large amount of food for the price, certainly a great deal for all the ingredients included, and had all the same flavors as the arepas. While it was also excellent, we definitely preferred the arepas and will order more of them in the future.

We loved the artistic and relaxed vibe of the courtyard and will certainly return in the future. It is an excellent place to visit with friends and family or on a date! This place is a hidden restaurant wonder and we highly recommend it!!

I’m sorry to write a mediocre review, but I expected much more and was disappointed.

The location is somewhat hard to find, accessed from the brewery. Also hard to find parking nearby.

The place is quite empty on a weekday around noon. The interiors are somewhat rough, exposed steel structure, not much decor. Also no music, just loud rattling from the big refrigerator.

The food was pretty good but not amazing, and the prices are high. $12 for a small bowl that is not filling, $8.5 for a small arepa (even two would not fill me up for lunch).

And they do not serve water. Bottom line- nice place to try different food, but not good value compared to a taqueria.

Place is within the brewery, once you enter take a sharp left and then another left, you’ll see the food court area. Carolicious would be the first stand on the right. Plenty of seating, don’t know how busy it gets as it was fairly empty when I went and found seating. Food was pretty good, it’s what you would expect when it comes to Venezuelan, had the pork and beef bowls, definitely the pork stands out as it peers perfectly with the plantains, black beans and rice. Was really expecting more as I’ve been searching for a Venezuelan place that would have more variety. Price was I would say it’s a bit expensive, not much, but you do get bigger bowls at many other places for the same price.

Ridiculously tasty with great flavor and texture combination, between $7-$11 for a decent amount of food ($7 arepa won’t fill you up). They have ample indoor and outdoor seating with bars next to it if you want to have a drink with it. Service is also pretty quick.

I got the pabellon (national dish of Venezuela) chicken, which was pulled chicken with incredible flavor, black beans and fried plantains, both pairing really well with the chicken. Definitely recommend it strongly.

Blown away by the amazingly delicious food! We tried the chicken pabellón bowl and both spicy beef/cheese and pork arepas. Everything was super flavorful. Will definitely be returning for more!

Updated Review:
Tried this place again about a year later and it was much better! Arepas were very tasty, and I enjoyed them immensely. I think they are much better at the restaurant than they are for takeout.

Original Review:
Sadly, this place was not my favorite. I love Venezuelan food, so I had high hopes. I’m not sure if we just went on an off day, but there were some major issues. The arepa shells were rock hard. I had a really hard time biting into them. I’m guessing this batch was just overcooked, but it was disappointing. There was also so much filling for the tiny arepa shell it was quite difficult to eat. The tequenas were good, but I wish they came with more sauce. All in all it wasn’t terrible, but I probably wouldn’t go back.

Came here Sunday evening and I have to say I liked the atmosphere and service. The food can use a slight improvement, but pretty good overall. Arepa was a bit small and a little too thin. Tequenos were good, but 9 dollars a bit too small for me. Would come again on a date night as the brewery and live music was nice. Loved the hydration station with sparkling water and flavors.
