The focaccia, beef tartare, hispi cabbage, and dripping chips were some of the best that we’ve ever had!! The prawns and leeks were good but I would say that even between two people, the amount of leeks was a bit overwhelming especially with some of the thicker pieces which are quite oniony in the middle from being less cooked through. With that being said, still really good.

The sirloin was really really well cooked. We don’t usually like restaurant cooked steak but this was genuinely lovely and cooked exactly to medium rare. (Probably the best restaurant steak we’ve had! AND it came with bone marrow which was a delightful surprise).

We ordered the pistachio tiramisu which was assembled beautifully but because it had clearly not been assembled the night before and left to soak the cream overnight (like with tiramisu normally), it didn’t have the characteristic softness that tiramisu has!! I would’ve preferred to have the traditional soft texture of tiramisu over the aesthetic plating.

The cocktails were lovely! The tiramisu espresso martini was shockingly good, the new york sour was amazing. The pear chocolate negroni was interesting, definitely really nice but we couldn’t really taste the pear and chocolate.

Atmosphere was lovely and the jazz music in the background was perfect for the sort of food and drinks they served but we found the paintings to be quite random and out of place, maybe taking away from the ambience they worked so hard on building! And we hope the paintings aren’t just AI generated 🙂

And to wrap it up, I’d like to again say that a lot of these were some of the best versions of the dishes I’ve ever tried! The hispi and steak were definitely highlights.

Best meal I have had out in AGES! Service was 11/10, every bite was delish, and the vibe was top tier.
The prawns were heavenly, and the tartar was next level delicious.
My dates ‘short’ rib was HUGE and succulent and my fillet was cooked to pink perfection – don’t get me started on the truffle fries NOM!

We just finished a wonderful Sunday brunch. I had the sirloin and my wife had the chicken. Both were delicious and plentiful. The gravy was terrific and we got extra as we had run out.

We also had a cheesy cauliflower side which was very good.

We’ll definitely be back.

We’re excited to visit Carne Hove again after their relocation. I remember having my first taste of their Tomahawk steak, and it was a chef’s kiss—forever etched in my mind. Since then, we’ve been coming back! I must say, the food is still exceptional, and they did very well with the interior and service. Brighton shouldn’t sleep on this restaurant.

It’s also available on First Table! A 50% discount is an incredible bonus to accept. Nevertheless, the food is worth it at any price.

Really nice place, staff is great and attentive, atmosphere is great, polished but cozy. A bit of the wait for mains but it was 100% worth it! Ox doughnuts starter, ribeye, octopus, and mac – all was brilliant. Definitely coming back.

We had a really lovely experience at Carne last night. The atmosphere is great; it’s warm and cosy but with enough space between tables to give it a romantic feel. The service was brilliant and the food was amazing. We had the filet steak as well as the tartar and the prawns to start. Everything was fabulous with great flavours and the steak was cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend for either a date night or a night out with friends. We loved it.

The steak was good, but the meal was ruined by a small side portion of frozen, bland chips at £6 each. A restaurant of this calibre should have decent, home cooked chips, in my opinion. When I complained afterwards I was pretty much ignored, although the waitress was very friendly. Won’t be returning.
