I have a group of friends that meet monthly to stay in touch while enjoying pizza. This month the Slice Mob met a Carmine’s Main St, Durham. Great pizza. I had the plain sauce with grated cheese. Sauce was perfect. Not sweet, nice tomato flavor and the crust was cooked to perfection. Nice char and crunch! I also got the house special ( sausage and mushrooms ) and I added cherry peppers. Excellent choice!!! Heath, the owner came to hang with us and we had a great conversation with him . He cooked us a few of his frozen pizzas for us to try. I have had them before and they are high on my list! He’s a great guy. Family owned definitely worth your time! Not a lot of place to sit, but they accommodated our group.

Carmines is an absolute hidden gem of a place across the street from one of the greatest ice cream spots in CT, you can really make it nice. the staff is incredible always greeted nicely and is considered best pizza in the area, and not only that but sandwiches and paninis are to die for. I’ve been going here for years and never have been disappointed and everyone I know talks highly about the place, food, quality, and people. 10/10.

This is a spot I make a habit to stop at after going to Hammonasett beach with the family as its right on the route from Middletown to Madison. I have tried alot of pizza in this county area and this is definitely so, far the best pizza within the Middlesex county. Able to contend with New Haven and be amongst the ranks of great pizza spots for CT. Service is great. Courteous and friendly. They can get busy but food is made fresh and in good reasonable time. Not really a sit down to eat restaraunt so look to get your stuff to go but they do provide a few tables to eat outside. Cheese pizza is classic, tasteful sauce and cheese combo and also taste great the next day as well. A hidden gem and surprised no social media critiques have ventured into this spot yet. I even have tried other stuff on menue and thier hot grinders are solid. Chicken parm, steak n cheese, egg plant parm, chicken cutlet . There really is no other pizza spot up this way that I have tasted which can satisfy my craving for New Haven pizza except for this place. I wish they delivered to surrounding towns as I would order from here more often. Its about 15 minutes away from me but I would rather drive to pickup pizza from here than to order from a place that offers average style pizza. This place is worth it. Best you check it out yourself.

Stopped here for a quick bite after a MTB ride at Rockland and they whipped up a small pizza for me in like 8 minutes. Friendly & efficient, which is good. But the pizza was excellent as well. Would definitely recommend for exactly this!

Always stop at Carmine’s after a beach trip. This place never disappoints. The food is alway so good. My favorite is their panini’s and grinder’s. Also picked up their to go pizza. It was delicious. The staff is alway super friendly. Best little place around.
