Decided to dine in at Carmine’s Pizzeria as it was one of the few “casual” places still open.
The pizza was solid, though to be fair, I came close to closing time, which probably affected the freshness. The potential is definitely there, and at $4 a slice, it’s not bad at all. It’s in the ballpark of NYC pizza, just not quite as good, but hey, it’s Dallas.
I also tried the pasta dishes. The chicken alfredo was super saucy, which I loved, but unfortunately the chicken itself was pretty dry. The lasagna, on the other hand, was absolute gas.. so good and so saucy, honestly might be one of the best lasagna I’ve ever had. Only minor complaint is there were these hard chunks of what I assume were dried bay leaves stuck throughout the sauce that you kind of have to pick out while eating. The pasta pricing is pretty fair but some places do offer bigger portions.
Would absolutely go again just for the lasagna!!

Loved the authentic food! Crispy crust was perfectly crispy! My spaghetti with meat sauce was just what I had been craving!!! Will def go back when I’m in Dallas again!

Let’s start off by me telling the lady at the front that I own a pizzeria so make sure he gives me his best. She half laughs at me, takes my order and walks off…
1. NICE location! Easy to get to! Walking distance from almost anything. But that’s about it….
2. Place is DIRTY. I even got trapped in the bathroom corridor. I couldn’t even close the bathroom door because it appeared to be stuck on the floor, like it needed to be adjusted up to allow it to open and close freely. But then when I came out, apparently one of the workers were in another part of the place and when that door gets opened, it seals off the bathroom corridor. After getting his attention I was finally able to get out.
3. I ordered the 20inch meatlovers. Man, I was super exited to try this thing, it LOOKED delicious. Well, let’s just say, looks are deceiving. This was clearly a “catfish” situation. She said she was 5’9 and looked like (whoever you find very attractive) but when she got there… NOT SO MUCH.
-The crust tasted like, what I’m sure eating the box it came in would taste like. No flavor at all.
-No sauce. With a pizza this big, there’s GOT to be sauce on it right? Nope. Very little around the crust but that’s it!
-Toppings were all crumbled, which I like, but no flavor there either. You have the textures off all the toppings but no flavor or anything.
Hard pass for me. Wouldn’t recommend.

I arrived just before closing at 3pm on Sunday 4/7. The atmosphere was making me feel like I was in New York. The aroma was making me more hungry as I waited for the eggplant parm dinner. It was worth the 30 minute wait as it was prepared fresh and I was told to stay as long as I liked. The food with the hot fresh bread was delicious! I will definitely be back.

I was there dining in the evening time, my meal was going fine… Except for my pizza was slightly burnt… But I was overlooking it because I know things happen from time to time it was not that bad it was just not what I wanted for what I paid… My issue came about, I was looking at my phone and eating… A delivery driver came in to pick up an order… I am here to tell you, I was thoroughly disgusted with the actions of the guy working behind the counter (I hope he is not the owner/or supervisor)..Tall guy heavy accent working the register…(He was very rude to the delivery driver) (Surprisingly the delivery driver kept calm)… The delivery driver went to pick the order up (he acted very hastily toward him),before he even handed it to him he said” you better confirm it”… The poor guy said “I know”.. the driver put it in the bag and ask to see the receipt to take a picture (the very rude guy behind the counter… Said “no just confirm it”)… The poor delivery driver”set I need it for the confirmation”..(then the rude jerk realized he was doing his job properly-he got even more rude and said” you’re right you’re right”…( He was very sarcastic with it) The driver took the picture..,(then the rude guy.. snatch the receipt back from him)… I was really trying to keep my cool, because the driver was older, but appeared to be very nice still (even though the way he was being treated and basically humiliated by the worker of Carmine).. Then the driver ask for the soda, that was in his hand.. he said “NO”.. the driver said “that is part of the order sir”..(I’m sitting over there kind of shocked, but acting like I was not paying attention).. (he hastily) handed the drink to the driver… The driver got the order and was leaving… When the rude guy started saying “have a good night have a good night”(in a very sarcastic tone) the driver did not say anything he just kept walking… The poor guy I really felt bad for him..(IF THIS IS THE WAY CARMINES, ALLOWS THE STAFF TO TREAT DRIVERS I WILL NOT BE DINING HERE ANYMORE AT ALL…)(THE BIG TALL RUDE GUY WITH THE ACCENT BEHIND THE COUNTER REALLY NEEDS TO LEARN GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE TO EVERYONE… NOT JUST THE ONES HE FEELS LIKE IT) TOTALLY RUINED MY EXPERIENCE HERE.. I WISH I COULD GIVE YOU A NEGATIVE 5, SIMPLY BECAUSE OF THE RUDE GUY WORKING BEHIND THE COUNTER…

We live in the area, and our old go to pizza spot closed. We walked the extra distance to here and regret nothing. I’m not sure what all the negative reviews are about. We walked in and were greeted with absolute warmth. Pizza was good; it’s not a Michelin star restaurant so don’t expect it to be. The slices were as satisfactory as grabbing a slice on any nyc street corner. I said what I said.

A friend and I stopped at Carmine’s on our first night in Dallas and we were so pleased with our experience! We ordered the California Pepperoni and we had to eat 3 slices each, it was so good! We brought the leftovers back and ate them later cold and they were still good. Highly recommend a visit!
