Carmine’s Celebrating 50 years! We are located in downtown Netcong on the border of Morris & Sussex County, NJ. Est. in 1968, by Carmine and Margherita Ruocco, Carmine’s Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant continues today as a family run business focused on quality food at affordable prices. Our menu features traditional Italian dishes, homemade pizza, calzone, stromboli, hot/cold subs, salads and homemade soup. We offer daily lunch & dinner specials. Our delicious entrees all come with a choice of soup or salad. Gluten-free items are available upon request. All menu items are available for take-out or for dine-in inside our cozy dining room. Full service catering.

I ordered their taco pizza. The flavor was good and the price was solid at $22 for a 16”, but the experience wasn’t the best. They told me 20 minutes over the phone, but it took closer to 40, and the pizza wasn’t hot when I picked it up — just lightly warm. That was disappointing because I was really expecting a fresh, hot pizza. Overall, it tasted good but the wait time and lack of heat brought the rating down for me

I am a frequent customer of Carmine’s restaurant. The food quality is very good and consistent. There’s sandwiches and pizza are outstanding! They have wonderful Italian dishes. A favorite of mine is the vegetable lasagna. Try it, you’ll like it.

I started going here with my mom, dad and sister in 1976 when we moved to N.J. It was my dad who was coming from Canarsie Brooklyn and trying to find good pizza. Friday nights it would be packed. I remember always getting a Sicilian, 2 liter and sitting down in the place. My favorite! Anyway stopped in for a slice of that Sicilian today and it did not disappoint. I could eat there pizza at least a couple times a week!

I always wanted to go up to this area to Lake Hopatcong. Looked this place up on Yelp. I was a bit concerned that there were no pies that just came out of oven. I ordered a slice of Sicilian and asked for a middle side but I think I got a middle. I also ordered a plain slice with pepperoni. Both were equally good. I don’t expect to be in the area again but I was pleased with the pizza. Bathroom was clean. People were nice enough. Plenty of tables. Pleasant interior. Relaxing. They also stock Pepsi products which I like.

Working in the area as a auditor and decided to go here for lunch after getting a recommendation from my supervisor. We ordered a chicken parm pizza, and I have never seen this much cheese on a pizza. The pizza wasn’t even warm, it was cold right after just picking it up. We paid $29 for a pizza that was basically a laxative. Save yourself and just drive the extra mile to order from Joe & Anthony’s.

First time having New Jersey pizza and I couldn’t express how I felt. It blew my expectations away, nothing like I had ever had before. First bite I took of the pizza and I already knew it was the best I ever had. Coming from Georgia, I would take this trip again and first place I would go to in New Jersey is Carmine’s. Their pizza was unanimously selected as the best pizza in the area (compared to 7 other pizza places in a 12 mile radius) at a blind taste testing party we threw last weekend. I’ll Gusto of Andover came in second (and Sal’s of Stanhope came in as almost inedible and dead last), but there’s something about Carmine’s sauce that stands out as wonderfully flavorful.
Please note that this 5 star review is based on their pizza alone. We’ve had them cater food for events we’ve had in the past and the food was “nothing to write home about”. But their pizza? As you can see I’m doing even more than writing home about it. I’m writing Google about it.

OK, this is a week later and I have since had Carmine’s cater an event of 50 people for us. Quite a few people came up to me to tell me how amazing the eggplant rollatini was. (it really was the most perfect eggplant rollatini I ever had) I think I now need to write that letter home about how good Carmine’s food is.

I have tried really hard with these people. And do like their Pizza, but they are not sanitary. I’ve had to ask them multiple times to not touch my Pizza with their bare hands. And they continue to still do that. One of the guys has black gloves And I’ve watched him take cash, cards and touch the cash register and then pick up food with the same gloves. This is not okay. And when I do ask they give me an attitude and look at me like I have a problem . I do not want your hands-on my food. No, more.
