I haven’t purchased food hence no rating. It is an absolute must place to go and just a very entertaining evening with Latin music being played along with a variety of usually Filipino singers. A violinist played a couple of tunes and there was a guest from the audience who played a fantastic funky piece, backed brilliantly by the band. Personally I prefer when just the band plays and boy are they great musicians. The atmosphere crackles with energy and happiness from an appreciative audience. Drinks are horrendously expensive but you can always sit on one for a long time. For example a can of Coke Lite is a bit over 200,000 VND. But forget the cost and just go. The music starts at 9:00 p.m. and finishes at midnight.

Carmen bar is a live music place that has music from 9pm onwards. However we found it to be a bit tacky and not for young people in their 30-40s it’s more like a 50s plus vibe. The drinks were also very expensive and staff is boring and not so accommodating. I would go for something else.

Had to drink mocktail since we rode our bike back home but the alcohol drinks are very good. I have been here many times and this is the first time I write my review. The bar has its style, very latino. The musicians were master in their art. Personally, I think the guys play and sing better than the girl. The manager, Simon is professional, helpful and very friendly. He waited outside to greet and say goodbye to all the guests, made sure all the table arrangement is up to standard.

Music is absolutely great. Atmosphere as well.
But drinks are too pricey, with tax and tips you will end up with 380k minimum for a very mediocre drink.
I suggest making an entrance fee, and regular price for drinks. It will make a better impression.
There was a cockroach running on our table, and mind that this place allows smoking.
Staff is NOT friendly and welcoming.
Might be a good place for people 40+. For younger may be not. I won’t come back as for me everything matters, not just a band.

I had the best night at Carmen. I don’t know what they usually play, but they were playing classical Spanish music that night. The band is so very talented, from the vocals to the background instruments to their stage performance, which kept me dancing along all night. Nothing beats their vibe! I would definitely come back for their great music!

This place the best live music in the town. Simply hands down.
It has a cave like entrance and the entire place is underground. It has red/ Amber lighting and is a very cosy place for you to take your girl for a nice close dance. The crowd is very lively and generally has a mix of both stags and families. Plus there are no entry fees ( in fact, the same is true for all clubs in HCM).
Food is good and the cocktails are a smashing hit ( try the Whiskey Sour).
Also the prices are very reasonable. 6-7lac Vietnam Dong for 2 pax.

Enjoy the Latin music night…. Nice little place hidden from the main road. Climb some stair to a corner with enter a small door to the place. Resemble a old barn. Nice atmosphere. We came early at 8.30pm and managed to get a cosy corner tall table seat.
Order a jug of sangria- a little too sweet for my liking. Didn’t go for the fruit platter as the review here mention it’s cut throat price. Lol
Basically the performance has 2 sets of the different singers and artist. Each set last about 2 hours. The resident band doing the instrumental are good.
Lastly the minus point is the lousy tall stool- uncomfortable to sit. Wooden stool with tiny seat without back rest and it’s has balance issue. If the CG is off you will fall off. End of the night Gives u bad back ache
Overall enjoy the performance.
