Do yourself a favor and check this place out, you won’t regret it! Will definitely be back.
What really makes them stand out is their use of halal chicken for their buffalo chicken pizza. Yes, you heard that right: a buffalo chicken pizza that’s not just phenomenal in flavor tangy sauce, perfect cheese but also has this awesome sesame crust. As a sesame crust enthusiast, I’m basically in pizza heaven. It’s quality ingredients all the way, and it doesn’t leave you feeling like you’ve just eaten a brick.
On top of that, the service is great and the owners are genuinely so nice it’s the kind of warm, welcoming vibe that makes you want to come back before you’ve even left. And the best part? They’re planning to expand their halal meat options, which is just fantastic.
So if you haven’t been back to Carmelina since the old days, do yourself a favor and give it another shot. You might just find your new favorite slice.
Place looks clean bright and neat!
Garlic knot slice. White slice, white slice with broccoli and a capanota slice
9/5 I took home the bbq chicken, chicken bacon ranch, grandmas slice and a pepperoni slice. We tried a bit of each and it was delicious. Definitely best place around.
What they did to this restaurant was truly amazing, transformed from that old ring down pizza place to this beautiful modern and bright Italian pizzeria and Ristorante! As soon as we walked in, I was so impressed by the beautiful atmosphere, their wall art and as soon as I got to the counter…. Their pizza!!!!
I was immediately drawn to their pepperoni pies! Seeing those prison discs all crisped and Curled up, I couldn’t wait to get into that. I ordered a neoplolitan pepperoni and Sicilian pairing slice. They heated them right up and man o man were they delicious. And the spices were huge too, see my pics
My wife got the white pizza slice that was all gooey and cheesy!
The owner was awesome, we spoke about how delicious the pizza is and that pepperoni full of flavor!
Get in their and take a bite……quick!
Any time I try a new pizzeria, I always start with some plain and siscillian slices.
The plain slices were decent. They were a little overdone, but they tasted good. The siscilian was partly undercooked and tasted doughy. It probably could have used a few extra minutes in the oven.
My slices did have some oven soot on the underside. Thankfully, i was able to remove it from the slices.
The pricing seemed a bit high to me, but given today’s economy who’s to say what a fair price is.
The pie was tasty. The sauce definitely stands out from other local pizzerias, you really get the herbs and spices. Would have liked to have had more cheese. The crust and the cheese weren’t consistent, the slices with the thinner crust were really good. The ones with what I would consider extra crust were chewy. The crust was tasty whether thick or thin.
There is a service charge to use credit cards.
I’d say it’s definitely worth the trip to try them out.
The Pizza ovens have been moved to the back. There have been very many excellent Pizza shops in this location, hopefully Carmelina’s will be as good as they were.
The pizza? Absolutely phenomenal! We ordered their grandma pie, and let me tell you, that thin Sicilian crust with fresh mozzarella and plum tomatoes was a game-changer. You can taste the quality of their ingredients—rumor has it they make their own mozzarella in-house, and it shows. The crust was perfectly crispy, the sauce had just the right balance of sweet and tangy, and every bite was pure comfort. We also tried their homemade mozzarella sticks, which were golden, gooey, and served with a marinara sauce that tasted like it came straight from an Italian nonna’s kitchen.
Beyond the food, what really stood out was the service.. We also grabbed one of their family deals—such a steal for the amount of food you get! It fed all four of us with leftovers to spare, and the variety of salads and pastas included made everyone happy.
The atmosphere is cozy yet lively, perfect for a casual dinner or a quick slice with friends. They’ve got a great setup for dine-in, takeout, or delivery, and everything was spotless and inviting. If you’re in Smithtown and craving authentic Italian food with a family-run feel, Carmelina’s is a must-visit. I’m already looking forward to our next trip—maybe Five stars all the way
