Overall. It’s good food and the portions were nothing to complain about either.
I got the land and sea. He got the R and R.
The chicken and beef cheesesteaks here are halal.
Edit: ***The owners of this stand had previously replied, quite rudely, to my HONEST review, which caused the below edit. They have since seemed to have deleted their reply. In their reply they accused us of not eating real meat, and saying we shouldn’t leave reviews because they “have 3 kids”. Crazy…..
Clearly the owner does not like people to voice opinions for food they paid for, and thinks i don’t know what meat looks/tastes like. How professional! Funny enough, I *was* excited when the new shop opened in the old Longo’s stand (a stand which routinely closed early and did not honor their hours), but was quite sad when I received food that was less than expected.
Instead of taking some constructive criticism, they want to push blame and say I have a vendetta against a spot In a market? That’s some mental gymnastics. Also, I don’t care if you’ve got kids or not, we have every right to leave reviews such as these. Make better food and you would have received a GLOWING REVIEW, which I have given plenty to deserving establishments (including Longos before they started closing). These grease jockeys can get bent .
I think I’ll take my two stars to one star now.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: We’ve had both lunch and breakfast at this spot to give it a fair shot, and both times the issue is low quality ingredients. The cheesesteak was a chunky chewy mess of gristle and grease. Definitely on the lower end as far as meat quality goes. Just this past Saturday we we had a sausage/egg/cheese on sourdough and a hashbrown for a quick stop. The hashbrown was actually crispy and good, bit the sandwich was lacking. Sausage was clearly frozen and paper thin and yet the sandwich was somehow still dripping with grease. The sourdough was barely toasted which meant it just soaked up every bit of that grease and had my stomach in knots afterwards. Fool me twice….
I have ever eaten!
