Wow!!!! This place is amazing. Highly recommend. The food, the service, the drinks, the attention to detail…. EVERYTHING!!! We had such a blast here celebrating my girls birthday and they took such good care of us and all our needs. Everything is so yummy. Can’t wait to come back again and again.

Unbelievably delicious food. Every single dish was special in its own way. You should come during happy hour for a chance to try more of the menu. The falafel and fried olives were especially tasty. The halva gelato is unique and absolutely delicious. Definitely a place to come back to.

Caramel on Melrose immediately feels warm and welcoming, and the food is truly insane. We had the red snapper schnitzel, sunchoke tortellini, branzino, rib-eye skewers, beet salad with labneh, hummus, Tuna tarart- mind blowing, ceviche , and house-made bread, wine, and desserts — every single dish was exceptional. The flavors are bold, vibrant, and very reminiscent of a great Tel Aviv / Israeli restaurant. Huge shout-out to Chef Assaf and his team for such thoughtful, delicious food. And our waitress Hunter was hands down a vibe — so warm, fun, and made us feel completely at home. We loved it so much we came back again before heading to the airport, which says everything.

One of those dinners you don’t forget ✨

Carmel absolutely delivered, incredible food, beautiful space, and a full experience from start to finish.

The bread, eggplant brûlée, tortellini, and New Zealand lamb chops were all outstanding (still thinking about them ).

Sitting at the chef’s counter made it even better, amazing atmosphere and such a fun energy watching everything come together.

Service was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, and valet made everything easy.

LA nights done right ✨

The food was great, especially the octopus shawarma. Schnitt beer on draft and a very friendly chef.
The crowd looked somewhat pretentious but we’re in LA after all so any place with a bit of a pricier menu will unfortunately get the worst kind of customers at one point or another. Can’t fault the restaurant though and frankly I was surprised how good the food was. The halva gelato did not seem like gelato though…it was more of a room temp gooey halva paste that was a bit overwhelming with the sweetness and the texture. The flavor a presentation were nice but I would never call it gelato. Maybe something to consider fixing on the menu. Everything else I tried was great. Can’t wait to have those scallops again..

10/10 would highly recommend! My fiancée and I went for date night last Thursday and was immediately blown away by the smells, decor, and immaculate service from our new favorite server, Hunter! We tried many dishes and cocktails and loved every single one! We had the Moroccan Frena (bread), Kampachi Crudo, Hamachi Ceviche, Corn Tortellini, and Salmon Skewer. We also had the Espresso Martini, the Melrose Spritz, and Mezcal Negroni.

Carmel Restaurant was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The food was flavorful, beautifully presented, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and well balanced.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for both a relaxed dinner and a special occasion. The service was attentive and friendly without being overwhelming.

Overall, a great dining experience — I would definitely return.

Wonderful experience . Excellent Mediterranean cuisine. The chef’s fresh sea food and fish small plates combined with great sauces and spices are mouth watering.
I had the Peruvian sea scallops,
The Bluefin tuna tartar and the Hamachi Ceviche.
The smoked eggplant and feta brûlée was a huge surprise . The combination of the smoke , the chili ,the Za’atar and the crunchiness of the brûlée was brilliant.
I took a few minutes rest before continuing to the mains.
Since I had quite plenty of food I decided to choose a lighter dish – Jerusalem artichoke tortellini. It was perfect ending of a perfect dinner.
Now I have to a huge problem. Should I take the Malabi Sandra that I remembered I’ve tasted in NYC a few years ago? I can’t go back to NYC without talking at list a bite? A huge dilemma!
The service was perfect.

Have been here three times now and will continue to return. The food and drinks are exceptional. The decor and music (live music if you are lucky) help bring the ambiance together. It’s a great place to bring friends or family, especially out-of-towners, they will be totally enamored.

Foodwise we have enjoyed the kampachi crudo, smoked eggplant & feta brulèe, sweet potato ‘fries’, green salad, shouk salad, artichoke tortellini, ribeye, and red snapper schnitzel. Knafeh dessert is amaaazing.

In terms of areas for improvement…

Service is always friendly but it always feels like they are managing too many tables. During our most recent visit we spent a lot of time wondering where our waiter was.

Would like to see them change up the waiting area in the back with the couches, it is extremely dark back there and does not make for a comfortable experience.

The smoked eggplant and feta comes with three small pieces of za’atar that are just not enough for sharing. It’s an amazing dish but the ratio of ‘dip to vessel’ is way off. I was also surprised to find the short rib pappardelle bland. I was expecting that rich flavor you get whenever short rib is involved but it just fell flat.
