Carluccio’s began life in 1991 when Antonio and Priscilla opened their food shop in Neal Street, bringing the finest quality regional Italian food to London. They carefully wrote each label by hand and explored the length and breadth of Italy to find the best ingredients. In 1999 they opened the first Carluccio’s Caffè in Market Place – an authentic Italian restaurant in the truest sense of the word, and a continuation of their successful food shop.
Contemporary, white-walled chain Italian cafe-deli, with pastas, handmade focaccia & a kids’ menu.

Went there with my boyfriend for our lunch. He ordered some pasta, and that pasta was a bit undercooked, and ive ordered some lasagna and oh my goodness it was so so good. For the drinks we ordered the classic Coca Cola and a banana strawberry smoothie. The atmosphere was so nice, inside of that restaurant was warm and cosy, we sat by the window. Staff members were welcoming and very nice. Highly recommending this place for first dates and dates with your special someone ❤️

We’ve eaten at Carluccios a couple of times since their last financial “reorganisation” and generally enjoyed the food, whilst finding service lacklustre. Most recent experience in Cambridge for a pre-concert meal with ample time (2 hours before show) was almost a complete disaster as service was so poor and response to chasers did little to improve. The “wine waiter” plonked the open bottle on the table, sloshed wine into 4 glasses without asking if anyone wanted to taste it, and left in a hurry. Fortunately it was fruity and pleasant, but we had to carefully ration it due to the 30 minutes it took to bring a couple of shared starters. We had to say we might need to leave without having mains to get the managers attention, and even then his apologies didn’t seem sincere – giving us a main course discount readily available anyway.
We like the food, but no excuses for the abysmal service which was clearly down to poor kitchen management.

I wanted to give a better review but the truth is that our experience today was quite ordinary. On turning up I had to ask if we could have a table. Once seated, we waited for 10 mins and then I asked if we could order. We took the 2 course menu. Eventually, the tomato bruschetta turned up but was drenched in olive oil and the tomatoes undercooked. I had the risotto which was fine. The head waiter and young girl were busy, efficient and doing their best. Hopefully this review will contribute to improving the overall offer.

The food is good but the service is top notch here as Ziggy was amazing. The pan seared sea bass with rosemary potatoes were nice.
But most importantly, we had such a lovely time being served by Ziggy. He was knowledgeable and was honest in his recommendations for us.
He is a star and we would probably dine back only for his service! Thank you Ziggy.

great food and quick service getting the order in and the food was really quick to arrive! we were left without any follow-up for about an hour after mains were cleared though (not asked at the time), but overall a good experience.

Strange Menu
Looks like an authentic Italian restaurant but actually is not at all.
The restaurant had a lot of non Italian style cakes in the display. The menu provided American style burgers too. Weird.
Has packed ink pasta for sale too. Slightly disappointed that the restaurant does not put ink pasta into their menu.
Found a mini leaf on the table when being seated. The staff must be too busy at different tables therefore missed the details. Saturday was always busy anyway.
The menu is quite limited, just standard.
The pasta does taste like made from stretch like Aromi does. More like pulled out from a bag, I am not sure.
But still, the dishes tastes fine, Standard flavour that suits everyone. Just the portions were a bit too small.
Just little confused that the restaurant provides so much non Italian dishes and desserts. Why not focus on the Italian menu? Weird.

Carluccio’s has a great atmosphere, the staff are friendly and warm. They serve amazing breakfast, lunch and dinner. The kids menu ia great and they can have a 3 course meal for £8.95. Their mushroom risotto with added parmesan cheese is worth the money, absolutely delicious. The pistachio tiramusi is scrumptious too. Its a nice restaurant to visit with friends and family or a couple.

Popped in to the Carluccio’s at 7:30pm on Friday. Were in a rush for a concert. Amazing service, especially from Marian! The food was brilliant, served very quickly! Absolutely amazing experience!

The foods and service was way beyond my expectations and I was very impressed.
The focaccia was fantastic, so crispy and soft at the same time with full of garlic flavours. Indeed the best garlic focaccia I’ve ever had. Tartare and arancini were good too.
Ragu pasta was bit disappointing as the flavour was not very strong nor the meat was tender enough and I’m just not a big fan of parppadelle pasta. However seafood linguine was brilliant, bit spicy but full of flavour and nicely cooked.
The restaurant was busy but still the service was amazing. The manager was not really smiling but kind enough and polite, very funny too. They have nice authentic Italian coffee too. Would definitely return in any time soon.
