Good food and fast service. However, the manager ( or person in charge) was training new staff and it seemed like she could have had a bit more tact when speaking to them. There were no customers or a long line so it seemed unnecessary for her to keep raising her voice at the new trainees. Just an observation because while waiting for my food, her commands turned heads and it made the whole experience uncomfortable.

They don’t take cash, and they take your normal receipt away and give you the kitchen receipt when you get your order. Cant use the rewards part of the app when they do that, because rewards are based on your receipt number. Food was normal, but experience was a bit bad since my debit account is on 30 bucks until my paycheck. Food was ok, but its likely a pass if im not starving because of how the restaurant is being managed. Most of the indoor seating wasnt set up and the bathroom was closed very arbitrarily during the busiest time of the day. I know they get busy, but thats pretty lazy from a management point of view. Message to management, be better. Other employees are just doing what management tells them to, so i cant blame them for the receipt issue or any of my other gripes

They are understaffed and always lacking cleanliness. The service is fast, but it’s not enough these days. The problem is that it’s on campus so you would expect the pricing to be cheaper but in some cases food cost more than off campus restaurants. One thing I really dislike is that the campus is sponsored by Pepsi, so while at a normal Carl’s or Hardies you would have Coke Products, this one is required to have Pepsi products. It’s fine for quick food, but there are better in campus options.

Constantly busy and have heard some bad things about the service from people. They didn’t seem rude to me, just tired of their job and wanting to go home. The outside area was pretty gross, and the wait times are longer than 90% of Carl’s Jr., but this place is probably doing close to their best for the only burger fast food place on a college campus.

Cashiers and management are awesome. However, I will not buy anything with beef from here again. Ordered a thickburger and nicely asked for one that was more cooked as it was pink inside. The cook argued that it was fresh meat and gave me a new burger that was still pink inside. Ended up eating a meatless sandwich for brunch..

This place is conveniently located for college students. It is also conveniently priced (make sure to show your Titan ID Card so that you do not have to pay Sales Attack). The staff here has always been friendly and staffed by people who go to college here. There is also a conveniently located ATM outside for School’s First. Only negative thing I can say is that it smells so good when people bring their food into class that I can’t focus in my classes because of it.

Normally the people and service here aren’t bad, but I got hassled about my order when I went back to ask for something that I didn’t recieve in my meal. I understand that the manager on duty wanted to check my receipt, but the employee took my original receipt, didn’t give me a copy with my order, forgot to add an item, and then the manager took a confrontational tone with me when I asked for my item. They gave my missing item to me, but I had several issues with the customer service there. At least I know i’ll always check for my receipt and items from now on.

From years of experience as a customer here, I would say 99% of the students who eat here are not because they like Carl Jr., but because this place is the cheapest and fastest food you can get on campus, which suits perfectly for college students. Do not expect too much kindness from the cashiers because the working environment is very busy, under pressure and fast paced.

For example, the old lady (I’m guessing she is the manager), would yell at students for asking for water, ketchup, or simply just didn’t hear “next guest in-line” in a noisy environment. I guess just try not to give her “extra work” or she will probably yell at you. BUT if she does yell at you for whatever reason, I kindly ask you please do not get upset or talk back to her, like I said maybe the working environment just gives the workers lots of pressure, who knows? Maybe she’s a nice person outside of work (hopefully lol)

This is my very last semester at csuf and great odds that I am never coming back to this Carls Jr after graduating. I will miss this place, miss the busy hours and long lines, miss the funny moments of the old manager lady getting mad and educating the students who gave her extra work to do. They will become memories in my college years for sure.

TIPS:
1. Don’t forget to show them CSUF student ID for discount.
2. Consider “number 18” meal for lots of food (for only 6 bucks)
3. If you are in a rush to your next class, go ahead and tell them “I want a burger that is ready to go” and they will just tell you what’s available. You will get your food literally right away.

Okay service. Manager is usually in a crabby mood. The fries are gross, and they got rid of the Star Meals, the only thing that was affordable to a college student like me.
