We were SO excited to try out Carls when we moved within walking distance. We tried it out once about a month ago and were put off by the man’s rude behavior. We tried it again today and it will be our last time going there. My husband waited awhile without being spoken to. Finally a very rude mad asked what we wanted and my husband said 1/2 dozen assorted. He came back with 1 dozen and told us that’s what we get. My husband said we only wanted 1/3 dozen and the man was very rude and told us too bad. We told him we wouldn’t be back and he said good. The donuts are amazing but not worth dealing with this man

Ok friends, so today I crossed the river over to East Peoria to go try out the Broasted (Broiled + Roasted) Chicken at Carl’s Bakery & Restaurant.
Man, they’ve got a good thing going on over in EP! So without further ado, Carl’s is tied for #1 on my Greater Peoria deep fried chicken list with Amir’s in the East Bluff!
I’d go to both any day.
If you’re thinking about heading over to Carl’s, please call ahead as they’re doing only curbside pickup, takes about 20-30 minutes for your order to be ready cos they cook’em fresh to order.
Oh and BTW their donuts are really good as well.
P.s.s. I guess this is closer to the Washington, Morton & EP friends ☺️

Finally was able to make it to this place. You pull in, they come to your car and you order. The man was very nice and answered all my questions. Guess you can call in orders. Very tasty donuts and a must when I am home. Get up early and go Thursday – Saturday mornings only…you won’t be disappointed.

The donuts are not good at all. The round donuts have next to no filling, the long john donuts have no filling at all, they’re way too thick for donuts and they have a weird potato aftertaste to them. Not worth $21. We’ll stick to Casey’s donuts. At least they taste better and aren’t expensive. 0/10.

My husband and I pulled up on a Saturday morning not knowing it was curbside only and call ahead orders (we are not on Facebook). We were greeted by a man that gave us options and we ended up with a “surprise us” dozen. All I can say is, I don’t think i’ve had a better glazed donut ever! I ate it on the car ride home. It was warm, airy, soft and perfect. Now I know why they sell out!

Having never been here, I pulled in didn’t know was curbside only. The owner cane out and rudely explained that. He asked what I wanted. After asking what they have, I just asked for a dozen assorted. My total was $18. I handed him a $20. I could tell he was expecting me to tell him to keep the change. Sorry buddy not tipping your attitude. The donuts were decent but not good enough to come.back and subject myself to his rudeness. Even when I thanked him he said nothing back. He should be thanking me for being a customer.

The donuts are so awesome! The best I’ve ever had! So light and the frosting is like fudge. They also sell broasted chicken. That’s very hard to find. They are only open til 1:30 and 1pm on Saturdays. Hurry in before the donuts are all gone!

I never liked danish until I had one at Carl’s Bakery. They are so good. Honestly, all the pastries here are fabulous. But, you absolutely must try the apricot danish and the strawberry pinwheels.

Carl’s is the best place to get fresh tasty donuts in the area. Call let it ring and then leave a message and then pick up the next morning. The baverian cream filled donuts are stuffed FULL of creamy goodness.
