We’re known for world-class U.S.D.A. Prime steaks, a raw bar honored as one of Cincinnati’s finest, live entertainment, and service that leaves guests feeling like royalty.

What really set the evening apart, however, was the service. Kayla, our primary server, was fantastic, and the support from Laura and Liam H. ensured we never wanted for anything. They made our joint birthday celebration feel truly special. Being seated at the “Gone With The Wind” table was a particularly fun highlight for me, especially given my name is Rhett!
Exceptional food, high-end atmosphere, and a stellar service team.
If excellence has a home address, it’s Jeff Ruby’s Carlo & Johnny.
I brought my wife and son for dinner, and we left with a new definition of what “great” means. My son and I ordered the 12oz Australian Wagyu Citrus-Fed steaks—cuts so tender and rich they practically disappeared on contact. His was crowned with the Collinsworth—Red King Crab, asparagus, Bordelaise, and Béarnaise—a bold, indulgent combination that turned an already perfect steak into a masterpiece.
My wife’s filet was equally impressive: beautifully cooked, buttery-smooth, and simply unforgettable.
The cocktails were well-crafted without being overdone, and the handmade desserts delivered a finale worthy of everything that came before.
Service was perfection from start to finish. Our server, Josh, blended warmth, timing, and genuine expertise in a way that makes hospitality feel effortless. Manager Jordan brought a reassuring presence—the kind of leadership that quietly tells you you’re in a well-run house. Every detail was intentional, every moment polished without ever feeling pretentious.
In an era where true creativity is rare and “unique” is often just marketing fluff, Carlo & Johnny stands in a category of its own. The experience is refined yet inviting, imaginative yet grounded, and clearly driven by skilled professionals who care deeply about the craft.
To the owner: if you ever wonder whether the legacy you built is thriving, let me assure you—it is not only alive, it’s being executed with pride and precision every single night.
Our server was juggling a very busy section, and it felt like they could’ve used an extra set of hands. In a place like this, having a three-waiter system really makes the difference between good service and great service—it keeps everything seamless.
While I’m glad we tried it and enjoyed the ambiance, we’ll probably explore other steak spots in the city next time since there are several with more unique menus and more polished service. Still, it was a solid night out and worth experiencing once.
For what this place is the price was expexted. Absoloutly fine dining. The servers were helpful in pairing sides and made exlent suggestions . The ones that had coxktails said they were great . And the desserts were heavenly .
Vallet if desired or park your self .
Overall a fantastic experience .
The restaurant is a slightly hidden off of a back road down a long driveway. The inside is very moody and plays off of the darker/ red/ ambient lighting.
The restaurant is divided in several rooms with seating and the bar is located closer to the main entrance of the restaurant with live music nearby.
The menu did not disappoint. I didn’t check if it was exactly the same as the other Jeff Ruby’s restaurants but we felt that it was/ if not very close.
We started with the table bread that is complementary at every Ruby’s restaurant, it’s served alongside a regular butter and a truffle butter
For appetizers, we did the east and West Coast oysters alongside a small shrimp cocktail.
If you are ever visiting Cincinnati or if you’re in Cincinnati and have not had a Freddie salad from a Ruby’s restaurant that will always be my recommendation. They have it at every Ruby’s restaurant and it usually is a crowd favorite. It is bacon, tomato, and lettuce, tossed and a significant amount of ranch so it can’t be bad.
For mains, my family and all stuck with steaks this time. Our server, Josh, recommended that we do the barrel cut fillet and top it with the Collinsworth. We had it cooked to a rare temperature and it was perfect, you could almost cut it in half with the fork. Ryan did a ribeye that was also cooked perfectly.
For sides, we recommend the mac & cheese, the truffle fries, the carrots, & the brussels sprouts. The sides are on the larger side, and you share them with the table.
For dessert, we did a few butter pies for the table and a slice of carrot cake. These are both extremely sweet desserts but in the best way possible. The butter pie is another menu item that if you’ve never tried, you absolutely have to get.
Our server, Josh, was phenomenal and we would recommend him 100 times over. He was very accommodating to our table and professional. He matched the energy of our table which extremely complimented our dining experience and we will definitely be back and asking for him!
For parking- they do have a decent size lot, but it starts to fill up as the night gets later. They have valet as well!
A few months back we didn’t have the best experience. Ashlee wanted us to give them another visit and I’m glad we did. She went above and beyond to insure we had a great night. Thank you,
Ashlee.
I can’t thank Kayla enough for the wonderful service. She was very knowledgeable of the menu, made great recommendations and is very personable. My wife and I were very pleased with everything you guys did for us. Kayla even sent a nice letter, thanking us for visiting and sharing our anniversary with them. If you make a reservation, request Kayla!
My wife loved the Anthony Munoz filet and I had the Australian Wagyu strip. Both were delicious. I would recommend very little seasoning on the wagyu, a bit much for me and may take away from the overall taste of the wagyu. Also, the Fox and Crow sushi roll is delicious. I would go back just for sushi.
