Stopped in for a quick meal before grabbing a connecting flight! Tacos were the right size! The corn shells were nice and held together and the BRISKET!

My connecting flight was at gate A15 in Newark airport. I stopped for breakfast which was delicious!! I got the brisket, egg and cheese. The brisket was smokey and very flavorful & the jalapeño green sauce, cilantro and other toppings just brought it to the next level. The restaurant next to Carlitos was charging $20-$25 for breakfast so it feels like a steal that I got my delicious breakfast for less than $10.

They have seating with outlets do you can charge your phone; very convenient since I’m at an airport & my power drained during my first flight.

I would definitely recommend Carlitos.

The lady serving the public this morning around 10am really needs to learn some customer service. I tipped her, because she had me pay before making my order, but if I had know how I would have been treated I would have just gone somewhere else.
The food was great but would it kill her to smile and be pleasant?
I had the brisket egg and cheese tacos and they were actually very good.

Really great place for tacos in terminal A. They make their own corn tortillas (see the picture). I also like the fact that I could get 3 chicken tacos for $13. Add a Corona and it’s still only like $20.

2024 update:
Prices went up. It’s now $16 for 3 tacos and $8 for a Corona. Still a great value especially in an airport…

Highly recommended!

I got the brisket taco and the pulled pork taco and both were delicious! Tasty juicy meat, perfectly cooked, good tortillas, everything well made. Definitely the best food deal in the terminal

It’s an airport terminal little taco shop. The tortillas taste pretty good almost as if they are homemade. The rest of the chicken tacos were kinda tasteless which is surprising because I was pretty hungry. Tacos were super greasy, but I’m ok with that. Expensive, but expected for an airport. Won’t say I’ll never eat there again, but I’ll look for something else first

While the service in atmosphere are fine, the food is terrible. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, this is the furthest thing from it.

Food is ridiculously overpriced, and the meat is extremely dry. There’s also not much flavor in any of the tacos.

It would be beneficial if they had a more flavorful salsa or hot sauce to put on the tacos.

But honestly, this is not worth it, and I would rather go to an airport lounge.

I stopped by this restaurant at the airport because they claimed to make fresh tortillas. I even saw someone making them by hand, so I was excited to try them. I specifically asked for corn tortillas, but they gave me flour instead. When I pointed it out, they just said “that’s all we have” — even though I could literally see another person making corn tortillas right there.

If you’re going to advertise fresh, authentic tortillas, at least be honest about what you’re serving. Definitely not the experience I expected.

I ordered the Brisket taco, the pulled pork taco and the sweet plantain QuesoTaco. I also had the Dulce de leche churros.

I like this place. It adds a nice vibe to the airport. The pulled pork taco was delicious. Not too juicy and the avocado sauce was delicious on all tacos that I ate. The sweet plantain taco was good. It’s cut into 2 thick pieces so I had to wrap the tortilla around the plantain like a hot dog which was weird. It would be a better bite if it had slightly smaller pieces of the plantain. The flavors were all there though.
Now for the Brisket taco, the one I was looking forward to. This is the driest Brisket taco I have ever had. The pieces were chunky but not soft, it was hard and dry which threw me off. I took one bite and had to spit it out, it was gross. The aftertaste in it was more chemical than BBQ.

The Dulce De Leche churros were good but the outside coating didn’t let me finish the other one. The cinnamon sugar coating is heavier on the cinnamon than sugar and it gave an unpleasant bitter aftertaste.

I highly recommend the pulled pork tacos.
