We visited this popular bakery on September 19th around 10am. Luckily, it wasn’t too busy, and since it was our first time, my partner and I were excited to browse this visually appealing spot. Unfortunately, the gentleman with the moustache didn’t seem to be in a good mood, which made the experience less welcoming than we had hoped.
We also wanted to enjoy their beautiful outdoor terrace but discovered that orders must be placed inside, as no table service was offered. On the positive side, the food was beautifully presented, very tasty, and priced in line with East Hampton standards, which we don’t mind, but at that level we also expect a five-star service.
Overall, the quality of the food and ambiance were great, but the service fell short. A little more warmth and professionalism would have made this a perfect visit.

Popular spot. Waited about 15 minutes in line. We for the hazelnut croissants and they were fine

The baked goods here are one of a kind and terrific. Wish we had a Carissa’s on the upper west side! The kimchee croissant was everything. Love a good savory treat.
Be prepared for a short wait on a weekend morning and for things to sell out. Go early!

Good bakery food. Got the turkey sandwich, chicken bahn mi for breakfast. And also chocolate-pistachio croissant.
Enjoyed everything.
Also liked our coffees. Good vibe. Dog friendly outdoor seating available too.

The staff seemed very disorganized. I ordered a salad but the avocados were completely black (it must have been made the day before). I also mentioned that I was allergic to nuts, yet they sold me a chocolate chip cookie which most likely contained walnuts (hence I had an allergic reaction).

The arrogance here is palpable. I think the highlight was after waiting in the hot, crowded space.. for 15 minutes. The bread i was waiting for was whisked away for “online orders.” And i was told “sorry we prioritize online orders!” Can someone explain to me why have a physical retail experience if that’s the policy??? This is next level obnoxious. People thing customers in the Hampton’s are entitled … the staff get to elevates that to the next level. At least it does eventually catch up….

Wonderful bakery with unique breads and the best almond croissant I’ve ever had. Excellent “to go” sandwiches. Beautiful cakes & pies (haven’t tried them yet!) Friendly service. Always stop here when in town!

I find myself always going back to get the recovery chicken soup. Also, the flourless chocolate cake is scrumptious.

3 stars. Carissa’s Bakery delivers a charming, whitewashed, “Brooklyn-y” vibe with an airy indoor space and extensive outdoor seating… perfect for a relaxed Hamptons lunch. The pastries and breads are beautiful and fresh, and their signature sandwiches, like the jambon-beurre with cornichons or creative egg sandwiches, stand out when you can get one. The service is friendly, though sometimes a little inconsistent… especially during lunchtime rushes when lines can snake out the door and seating fills up fast. As popular as the spot is, that popularity comes at a cost: expect slow-moving lines, long waits to order and find a seat, and occasional inefficiencies in how orders are processed. All in all a lovely setting and strong baked goods, but the crowd and the wait dampen the charm… worth it if you’re planning ahead, but be prepared to wait.
