I love Carissa’s bread and the outdoor garden at this location is lovely for a brunch time gathering. Glad there are a few vegan options but would love to see some vegan pastries and the otherwise vegan sandwiches to be made with a different bread than milk bread (they won’t substitute which is frustrating). That being said the grain bowl was delicious and the avocado toast without cheese is always very tasty. Good coffee and plant-milk options too!

Carissa has good food and some truly delicious pastries, but unfortunately the service is extremely disappointing. There’s a woman who seems to be either the manager or the owner, and her attitude comes across as unfriendly and unwelcoming. A lot of people had warned me about the service here, but I still wanted to give it a chance. Sadly, I had the same experience, and I won’t be coming back. It’s a shame because the place has so much potential to be a warm, inviting spot, but the lack of hospitality really takes away from it. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend it.

Absolutely delicious spot for freshly baked bread, croissants etc. Wonderful staff, and very sheik clean vibes. I had the shakshuka because it looked appetizing in the photos…

The pistachio latte was absolutely delicious, but unfortunately the overall experience was disappointing. Despite being kind and leaving a tip, we were met with cold and unwelcoming service—no smiles, no thank yous. It’s hard to want to return when the atmosphere feels so unfriendly

Amazing bakery and desserts. Staff are friendly and chill. Love this place. They messed up our order but made it up to us. Highly recommend!

We had an extremely uncomfortable experience due to the manager/owner (a thin woman who appeared to be running the floor). Her behavior toward both customers and staff was unsettling.

I ordered a meal for in-house dining with chicken salad to go, after being pushed between nonexistent labeled dine in vs dine out counters. The worker gave me the to-go item while I was checking out at the counter, when I got to the “communal table” and the manager saw my cup of chicken salad (unopened) she visibly freaked out over it — even though I never intended to eat it at the table. And honestly, even if I had, it’s unclear why that would warrant such a reaction? Also note, chicken salad wasn’t on the “eat in” menu, so if this was a plating issue (she mentioned no paper products are to be on the table, odd for a casual eatery) it didn’t hold merit for such a response.

What made this worse was watching her inappropriately yell at the employee who handed me the item. The interaction felt hostile and unnecessary. Our entire party felt uncomfortable, and we genuinely felt bad for the workers, who seemed anxious and under constant pressure from this woman.

The overall atmosphere felt tense and unwelcoming, like staff were being ruled by fear rather than supported. It completely took away from the dining experience. It’s a shame because the interior design was beautiful, the food was great, and the actual staff (sans the manager woman) were very pleasant. I can’t come back here based off the intense negative energy she spread across our experience.

Normally I do not review establishments, however I would be remiss to not warn other patrons of this distasteful experience.

Obviously a very beautiful modern place with gorgeous aesthetics. It’s a bit confusing going inside for the first time however. The staff was nice especially the gentleman who took my bakery order. A bag of coffee, baguette, roast beef sandwich, chocolate croissant, brownie, pistachio croissant, chicken salad and matcha latte came out to $110- expensive but I guess not too far off from pricing around there. The food I have to say, is very yummy. The sandwiches are amazing, but they’re a little too acid heavy and VERY mustard forward. If you don’t like mustard, you probably will not like their sandwiches.

Update after owner’s reply:
We were group of 4 people, not 20 people. You may mistake us with other mistreated customers. I am fully aware of food price and environment in Hampton, and I have visited other restaurants in the area. You definitely have Hampton attitude, but food and service is not up to standard.

It was nightmare customer service we have experienced. They were busy when we arrived. The server at the door told us to go inside register and order for dine in. While we were walking in, an older lady with glasses (manager/owner ?) yelled at us and told us to go back outside and wait on the other line. She may had a bad day, but she was definitely nasty and full of attitude. It finally sorted it out after she talked to server at the door. I felt bad for the server after hearing their conversation, she yelled at the server for entire two minutes in front of a big crowd.

After we got the food, it was a dispointment. Portion was small for both food and drink, definitely over price for what they charge. The bread for roasted beef sandwiches was very tough, my teeth hurt so much that I can’t finish the other half.

I hope the management can see this and improve customer service. Nobody deserves what we experienced.

✨Breakfast heaven alert ✨
I had the most amazing breakfast experience at this place! Everything was so beautiful, it felt like I had walked into a Pinterest board ️. The decor? Stunning. The food? As pretty as a Vogue spread and just as delicious. I almost cried.
If I lived next door, I’d probably be here every single morning pretending I’m living my best life (and I’d totally be broke $$$$!, but with good lighting and great eggs).
Pro tip: wear your cutest outfit, this place deserves a full photoshoot. Also, bring the whole crew! The menu has something for everyone. I only missed some fruit on the side (toddler problems lol you know) because the fruit was hiding deep inside the yogurt — which was still delicious, by the way.
Will I be back? Yes. Weekly? I wish. Daily? If I win the lottery and move in next door.

10/10 highly recommend.
Thank you, guys!!!

Obsessed. Excellent food and very helpful, friendly staff in an elegantly-designed location. Lori was kind enough to recommend several dishes that all sounded good so we didn’t hold back: the Vietnamese Chicken & Rice Soup, Smoked & Braised Brisket Sandwich, Smashed Potato’s and Avocado Toast that we’re perfectly prepared. We also ended up getting some beautiful black tea, a matcha latte, and regular latte with a couple monkey bread bites to wrap up our meal. My only regret is not being able to order everything on the menu! Sometimes when one is asked whether a new place is good out here, I hear people say “it’s pretty good…for the Hamptons”. Carissa’s is a fabulous eatery, full stop.
