Check the reviews and you will see all of the 5 stars are from 5 and 10 years back. Look at the pics on thlse reviews you will see how the food looked back then chef definatly quitI agree with shelly gangaden and the others say the food is not the same. It is not the same. The chef must have quit. I specifically said i want 4 soups NO FOOD in them only water and meat. I said especially no dumplings. Well they all were full of dumplings potato and carrot with a little meat. Soup was a orange colored salty mess. I ordered a oxtail i ask for plenty gravy got it and hardly no gravy. Oxtails not tender like before the soup not the same i would go there every saturday just to buy soup. I had not been there in some years and saw they moved upscale however the food not matching the decor. The chef definatly quit. P.S. dont send me your generic “were sorry for your experience reply ” keep it dont send me that because what you not sorry about is that $56 that you collected food there these days is trash.

Unfortunately I was treated poorly upon visiting its new location, where I was standing there while everyone gossip. A guy was professional enough to ask if I was being helped. This was also my 2nd attempt to purchase roti skins. Whoever making the roti for the restaurant is not doing a good job. Poor representation of what roti with chic peas inside (Dhalpourie) is. There is no peas and the roti is cracked in so many pieces I can feed the multitude with this rock of a bread… 2 different purchases…2 different locations. same cracked up roti… I won’t be back for roti here… lol..

I went to restaurant on my birthday this year. This is where I go for oxtails dinner. Service was great and food was amazing as usual. Their move to renovated place just added the lovely touch to a customer experience. Thank you for a Jamaican food that is better than others.

We visited this restaurant after the Niners’ 1st win of the season. We were promptly seated and taken care of by Fendee for the evening. Our drink orders were the Bob Marley for my wife and a spicy margarita created (on the fly) by the bartender with Scotch Bonnet peppers instead the classic jalapenos. It was excellent! We order the oxtail, curried goat and jerk chicken entrees. Everything was good… No bone left untouched! We will definitely be back when we’re on town again!

I ordered the red snapper dinner along with two beef patties, two drinks, and a cocoa bread. The total came to about $70. While the beef patties were acceptable and tasty, the red snapper was extremely disappointing. The fish, gravy, sauce, and even the vegetables were all overly sweet—so much so that it tasted like I was eating sugar instead of a savory fish dish. The sweetness completely overpowered the meal and ruined the experience. For the price paid, I expected a much better quality and balance of flavor.

A whole vibe coming here for the first time. Customer service was on point. Excellent food as you can see from
the pictures my daughter couldn’t wait and ate hers in the car which was the curry chicken rot (plate clean). I on the other hand had to wait because I was driving back home and I got the vegetable roti and it was excellent, very flavorful and filling! I will be coming back to have dinner.

I’m not sure what has happened but the food is not the same. What I purchased today was unacceptable. This used to be one of my favorite spots. For my $70, I received very sweet jerk chicken. Tasted more like bbq chicken than jerk. The plates had 2 legs and a third of a thigh and didn’t taste fresh. Parts were rubbery. The cabbage tastes like it was mixed with frozen California blend veggies and unseasoned. Just boiled or steamed. The cabbage had broccoli, cauliflower and huge carrots in it to my surprise. The rice was very dry, nearly hard. I ordered beef and chicken patties. The seasoning was lacking. No flavor and parts were hard/tough to chew. The plantains, I’m speechless. Very very very dry. Not sweet at all. They were not edible. May have been reheated way too many times. The staff were very nice and friendly. Out of my entire order, the coco bread was the best.

Caribbean Hut. I wish I could say this was just an off day but unfortunately I have eaten at your restaurant a few times and because your a Caribbean owned business I try and support. But today I had to write a review. I ordered your stir fried Shrimp for lunch and this was just bad. It was basically your cabbage , carrots and a few pcs of corn mixed with shrimp that was absolutely bland with a hint of sweet. I’m not sure if the sweetness was sugar or the browning but this was a disappointment. It was very greasy for no reason. The rice and peas also was not seasoned and the meal came with no plantains. Additionally both the beef patties and the coco bread were hard as if they had been in the warmer way too long.
For lunch this is just not good… unfortunately this will just have to be our families last time coming here.
I’m not sure if you have new chefs but some of the spices you have used in the past you may want to consider bringing back… If the rice and peas or peas and rice depending where your from is off then everything else on the plate is off. #Coconutmilk #Thyme #Bayleaf #Salt&pepper I wish you all the best at your new location because it really is nice.

I ordered a large oxtails, rice and peas, sweet plantains and a side order of Mac and cheese. 7 oxtails in various sizes from Very small to large. I will say that the oxtail was very well seasoned… just not seasoned to my personal liking. I don’t believe oxtails should be super sweet. They were tender and stew was placed over my rice. Rice and peas were delicious and not grainy or clumpy. Mac and cheese, flavored to perfection, however, not enough to charge someone $6 for a scoop of Mac.
Will try other food from them. Just not the ox or Mac and cheese.
