Definitely dont walk, RUN INSIDE! Absolutely Amazing experience all the way around. The first bite felt like a warm hug (I got the Roja Vieja)! the only thing they could do to level up, is introduce alcohol & themed event nights to draw in more demographics of the surrounding communities ie. Salsa Night, Beer and Batchata, Caribbean Children Coloring or something with promos.. would be AWESOME! Definitely recommend I give them their flowers

The food is good , you have to catch them on a non busy day. One day they might be slow or they don’t want to bring the food out fast enough the other day they’re slammed trying to hurry up and knock every order out for chicken.. empanada, or chicharon…

20 years later and NOT consistent.
There’s about 4 oz of meat? They used to have chunks of meat! Yuka is raw in the middle. Just gross. I need to cook them!! Really disappointed.

I ordered the yuca con chicharrón. The chicharrón tasted extremely old and the grease clearly reused multiple times. It had a putrid smell and the taste was something like the smell of dog poop. It was so bad I gagged from just one bite. And chicharrón is fried pork belly. This was not it. I’m not sure what it was but it was disgusting.

The guy also pretended not to understand me when I spoke Spanish.

I’ll start with good. The beans and rice were hot and had nice flavor. The person taking our order was friendly. The bad. My beef stew was not hot. More on the just warm side and the meat was tough and tasted like it was made a few days ago. It was not horrible, but also was not good. The was my second visit here. First time i had a very mediocre experience as well. I thought i would give them a second try as i was craving some Latin food.

So, first off, the food here seems to be popular Caribbean dishes as interpreted by South American chefs? Once I got past the completely different flavor profiles, I can see where it might have actually been good…if it was fresh. I got a leg and thigh with black beans and rice, plus maduros. The spices were nice, if unexpected (no garlic or sofrito, no jerk, but more spicy-sweet with nutmeg and chiles maybe?), but both the beans and the chicken were stale/re-heated. The dark meat was incredibly dry. The plantains were similar quality to store bought frozen. Honestly didn’t eat much of it. Again, if everything had been fresh, I would have been down with the surprise different flavors. Maybe just a bad week…September is a hard month for restaurants. Everyone there was very kind and efficient, and clearly hard working. Cleanliness was acceptable.
