Very nice still relatively new spot. Is it perfect? No, they are still working out some things a year later, but the food definitely seems to be pretty high quality. I got to try their small bing stew chicken (brown stew chicken?) and sweet plantains.
The portion itself was pretty solid for the price. The chicken was super tender and very flavorful. Mostly drumsticks. It also came with a nice portion of rice and beans, which soaked but the brown sauce (although I think more sauce could be nice, and maybe a few more vegetables as well).
The sweet plantains were delicious. Super sweet indeed and a lovely portion, nicely caramelized. I will, I actually ordered the salt fish croquettes but I suppose they were out or something. Still a pretty small restaurant so understandable. I liked it though!

Our first time in Pittsburgh and needed to find a good place to eat. We came here off a Google search for good Jamaican food and we were not disappointed! The Jerk was delicious! Mixed ny extra juice with my cabbage beans and rice and was in heaven. The plantain was perfect. Not overcooked or dry. Thank you for the great experience.

Some of the best oxtail I’ve found in Pittsburgh! But the rice and beans were the star of the show those beans had so much flavor and so did the brown gravy that saturated the rice. Perfect filling meal, thank you! I will be back!

Came here for a birthday dinner to reconnect with my root from being away from Jamaica Queens. If you know it’s full of West Indian people. We enjoyed everything here. From curry chicken to oxtail. Everything was on point and well prepared.

The food is perfectly spiced and so flavorful! I got curry chicken and my spouse got jerk chicken and we were both delighted with our meals as well as the beef patties and fried plantains we also ordered. They also make their own ginger and sorrel drink, which was excellent. The staff was friendly and inviting and the atmosphere was very laid back. I will be returning for sure!

I just came back from lunching here with a co-worker. Our overall thought is that the food is good but the price is too high for the amount of food that you receive. I ordered ackee & salt fish which implies that there should be salt fish in the dish! Not a few flakes and a flavor suggestive of fish. I paid $15 for it and basically had onions, a little ackee, a piece of pepper and a whole bunch of cheap carbs (yam, two dough dumplings, banana) instead of serving salt fish. I’ve made ackee & salt fish so I know what it’s supposed to look like. I’ve had better Jamaican food with better portion sizes elsewhere and my colleague felt the same. Also, the rum cake is advertised as $6 but is actually $7.50! Finally, this is the second time that I have gone there and they didn’t have jerk chicken ready either time. I paid $33 and the only meat that I got was in the beef patty. I cannot recommend this place.
Updated 4/8/25: Management kindly offered to make things right and this time when I went in I had brown stew chicken (ackee & saltfish wasn’t available). The manager was very nice when we discussed the matter. She really wanted to make sure that she was providing value for the money, which was greatly appreciated. The brown stew chicken was outstanding! See the picture below but note that I had already started eating it as there was more in the meal. I want to thank management for addressing the issue and providing excellent customer service as well as excellent food!

Located right next to market Square. The restaurant itself is pretty small and they have a bunch of high tables. He go up to the counter and order food, and then they pack it for you in a container, but you can choose to eat it within the restaurant. I got the beef patty. It was quite substantial and the dough flavours of curry and turmeric and was flaky and light at the same time. I also got the small chocolate chicken, which came with a piece of thigh and leg. The chicken was absolutely moist, and the chocolate seasoning was very tasty. It came with rice and cabbages. The cabbage did not have much flavour on its own, but went well with the chicken. My only thing is, I probably wouldn’t choose this restaurant if I want to eat there. The chairs are kind of uncomfortable and the music is loud plus, you can’t really have a large group there.
