I love the vegetarian patty and the homemade punch from this place! The patty was well-spiced and puffy/crispy. The fruit punch was delicious and not too sweet. The owner was very friendly and helped my friends decide what to get. Food was reasonably priced here and pretty authentic (according to our Jamaican friend). Highly recommend this place!

My family decided to visit Caribbean Deck Cafe while we were vacationing in the Poconos. From the moment we walked in, Shaine treated us like family! He allowed us to taste test a few dishes and we enjoyed talking to him about all kinds of things. As for the food itself, it felt like we were at Shaine’s backyard barbeque! He kept piling it on and the portions were huge! We tried the curry goat (my favorite, though everything could arguably be considered a favorite!), the oxtail, stew chicken, and jerk chicken – each dish was full of flavor, hot/fresh, and oh so satisfying! The curry goat was seasoned to perfection, the oxtail was meaty and tasty, the stew chicken meat was fall-off-the-bone (see photo), and the spicy homemade jerk sauce was out of this world! Anytime we go to the Poconos, we plan on being back here for sure. The sides consisted of plantains and cabbage, and both paired very well with each meal. Rice options are rice and peas or white rice (rice was delicious). We dined in and appreciated the large plates and overall attentive experience. After our meal, Shaine hooked us up with sweet potato pudding and Hennessy cake on the house! And I must say: Both hit the spot! The sweet potato pudding was like a slice of sweet potato pie with pudding consistency – it was hot and sweet, and it was exactly what I needed after the amazing meal. Hennessy cake gave me rum cake vibes (note: I don’t drink alcohol and am far from a connoisseur) and it was also great! We want to thank Shaine for really going above and beyond to take care of our family. The Poconos community is blessed to have him and Caribbean Deck Cafe! Every 5-Star Review is well-earned/well-deserved, and you will NOT regret visiting. Very highly recommended!!!

I was traveling in the Poconos and I wanted some Jamaican food. I stopped at the Jamaican truck in the Poconos outlet when I said I’ve been eating Jamaican food since I was six years old and now I’m 50 years old this was the best Jamaican food I have ever tasted in my life, ladies and gentlemen I try every Jamaican spot in New York. I’m gonna try every Jamaican spot in Delaware, Delaware Jamaican food is disgusting. I will travel twice a month to the Poconos just to get. Ladies and gentlemen, when I say the oxtails the rice and beans, let’s not forget about the cabbage, the plantains the beef patty with the cocoa bread his rice taste his rice taste just like a smooth cocoa taste. The oxtail is melting in your mouth. The beef patties is amazing. This is the best Jamaican food I have ever ate in my life. I will never eat nowhere else, but from this man’s truck best Jamaican forever please everybody travel to this truck best Jamaican food you will ever eat.

I went here today and the food was fantastic! I got curried goat with white rice and it was the best I have ever had. The guy running the truck in the outlet was there in the rain and was super nice and kind. He even gave me the sweet potato pudding on the house. The hospitality and the food is amazing and I cannot wait to come back!

The food is excellent and true to the culture. I am Guyanese and we felt like this was home cooked. The curry was not too wet, and was a nice blend of bunjal. Not oily. Meat falls off the bone , for both chicken and oxtail dishes we had.

Shane is very courteous, although he could use some help at the counter while he is preparing the dishes. 10/10, will be back again!

What a great experience! The food is authentic and delicious! The owner/chef Shaine was so kind and accommodating. Definitely a must! If you wish to dine in I’d suggest calling at least a day in advance or takeout is a great option as well. Will definitely be back!

This is a hidden gem in Pa.
We had jerk chicken, curry goat, and oxtail with rice and peas, extra gravy. We also had Chef Shaine’s ackee saltfish. It’s delicious! Don’t forget to pick up a bottle or two of ginger beer. Highly recommend it.
Edit: Read some negative reviews, I would like some folks to understand that this is not McDonald’s. The delicious food is not processed in a factory. The chefs put their heart into making the food in a kitchen. It can take hours for them to make. Because of this for most Caribbean restaurants, some foods are limited at near closing. If there’s a dish or two that I planned to order, I usually call in advance.

An absolute gem! In the middle of the mountains, finding authentic Caribbean food was not something we anticipated. The owner is amazing and treats everyone like family the instant you cross the threshold. If you are waiting here, it’s because of the overwhelming demand for the food and the pride Shane takes in serving his food. Flavor and quality is out of this world!
We spent a night in Shane’s private dining, and he ran the restaurant while managing our private meal. We were patient and understanding and our meal was fantastic! The snapper is MASSIVE and delicious! He accommodated a kids meal and just wowed us with everything from beginning to end. Fruit punch is all natural and our favorite! We enjoy breakfast, jerk, curry, and everything we’ve eaten is wonderful. We will always return!
