If I could give the food 20 stars, I would! It taste and looked FANTASTIC! I ordered a small Oxtail dinner w/ cabbage, rice and peas, plantain, and a Jamaican Beef Patty. The owner was nice and exuded great customer service, my food was hot, and most of all it was delicious. I found this restaurant on Google as I was looking for a nearby Jamaican restaurant with good food/reviews that would satisfy my Caribbean cuisine itch. I decided to try this place and I’m so happy I did!!! The only hiccup was although I called my order in and got to the restaurant a little past 30 minutes, I still had to wait an additional 10 minutes for my food so please keep that in mind if you’re in a rush.

Outside of that, after taking my first spoonful of food I immediately wanted to kick myself in the behind for bot getting a LARGE dinner instead of the small. Lol I will be back again!

This is the absolute best Jamaican food in all of Detroit/Metro Detroit (and yes-I’ve tried them all!) The name is 100% accurate…their food is AUTHENTIC. Every dish is cooked hot, fresh and packed full of flavor. From Jerk to Curry…Chicken to Oxtails-everything is delicious! In true Caribbean style, the owner and all staff are extremely friendly and kind. Quality food takes time and so does authenticity so please be patient. This restaurant stands out b/c the attention to detail is like no other. If ordering take out- just call ahead; If dining in…take a seat and enjoy the island vibes! The flavor is worth the wait!

Some months ago, my husband was watching a food review by Mr. Chimetime. He mentioned that this is the best Jamaican restaurant in Michigan. Recently, due to a business trip, we were able to stop by the restaurant. We went late one night near closing time and came back the following day. O’my goodness, the food was delicious. The first night, we both had curry chicken and Jamaican patties, and the following day, I had oxtails with white rice, cabbage, and plantains. My husband had the Rasta Pasta and a Jamaican patty. We also tried his all-natural sorrel and guava juice mix, and we greatly enjoyed it too!

If you’re ever in this area, stop by, as you won’t be disappointed, but be patient, as you’ll be there for at least 30-45 minutes depending on how many customers he’s cooking for. The reason is that the food is absolutely fresh… definitely worth the wait! And while you wait, you’re entertained with the great sound of Jamaican gospel music!

As stated previously, the first night we went was close to closing. My husband and I had the privilege of having a great conversation with the owner. We learned that he isn’t just a great chef but also an herbalist. He grew up in Jamaica, where both of his parents were herbalists, and he decided to fuse his knowledge of herbs and their healing properties with his love for cooking. In essence, when you indulge in his food and drinks, you get not only great-tasting food and beverages but also consume things that are actually beneficial for you. There are no preservatives whatsoever in his food.

Yes, we had great food and a great experience! We will most definitely be visiting again!

Authentic Caribbean Cuisine is the best Jamaican food you will find in America! The oxtail meat is juicy and tender, the plantain perfectly cooked and the rice and peas fluffy and delicious. The beef patty is packed with flavor. The food is filling and portions very generous. You will not go home hungry after eating here!!!

The owner is a very kind and polite man, the service was spectacular. He has several acclaimed awards for a good reason! That being said, great food and great service may need some patience. Every dish is made with love which means you aren’t just getting the slop from off the grill. Sit back, relax, enjoy the atmosphere and let him work his magic.

10/10 will definitely coming back every time I am in Troy.

Got the Oxtail. Here are the more recent prices. Food exceeded my expectations. Only thing I could speak about is that I was told 25 minutes but waited another 10 minutes for my food when I arrived. Prices are a bit high for the large. Overall I was happy with the flavor.

This place deserves every single star! From the moment we walked in, Dominic made our experience exceptional. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. He took the time to explain the menu, answer our questions, and offer recommendations with such enthusiasm and knowledge. His customer service was beyond wonderful, warm, professional, and truly memorable. You can tell he takes pride in making sure every guest has a great experience.

Now let’s talk about the food, absolutely amazing. Everything was extremely high quality, fresh, and full of flavor. We had the yams, rice and beans, curry chicken, BBQ chicken, greens, cabbage, and plantains — and every single item was delicious. The flavors were rich, authentic, and perfectly seasoned. The BBQ chicken had a spicy kick to it, but it was so good and flavorful that we couldn’t stop eating it.

You can taste the care and quality in every bite. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend!
