Social Profile:

Carefree Coffee Roastery boasts the attention to detail, which is reflected in the taste of the coffee. All coffee beans purchased are “specialty”, meaning the coffee has less defects and better flavor profiles. Also all coffee beans are roasted in-house guaranteeing a smooth full flavor without the bitterness or burnt taste. Owners Lars and Maggie believe that a true coffee experience is in the details, from the selection of superior quality coffee beans and flavorful teas, to the welcoming and relaxed environment of the coffee shop.

This is our favorite coffee shop to visit in AZ, without a doubt. Lars and the entire staff are so kind, know just about everyone who walks through the door by name (and order!), and take pride in their high quality coffee and food. Matcha is delicious, too! They have gluten-free options and some of the best muffins you’ll ever try. Carefree Coffee roasts their own coffee beans and uses ingredients from local shops. My husband’s favorite thing to get is the “Jam Burrito,” which is a unique breakfast burrito that you won’t find anywhere else, and it is served with a fresh salsa. I try to get something new every time, but my recent favorites are the chicken salad, egg and cheese breakfast burrito, and their daily quiche. Looking forward to coming back and sitting on the patio! Such a cozy, inviting atmosphere.

I’ve been coming here for years and it continues to be my favorite coffee shop in the entire valley. The atmosphere is always so calm and cozy. The fresh made pastries are to die for, and the coffee is top tier. The service is always quick and friendly, and the patio is always lively and inviting. I highly recommend the trip up to cave creek/carefree whenever you get the chance, a visit here is a must!

I enjoyed an afternoon at the Roastery with a blueberry matcha latte and a cup of chicken salad. Both were delicious!

Service was efficient and the baristas as well as cook were very kind. I sat on the patio and had a video conference while I was there and found it to be the perfect spot to unwind and get that done. I highly recommend visiting the Roastery!

I haven’t had such a good cortado in a long time—so delicious, served with sparkling water and beautiful coffee art. The matcha was also excellent. Lovely patio and friendly staff!

I recently visited Carefree Coffee in Cave Creek, AZ and had a mixed yet enjoyable experience. The highlight of my meal was the breakfast burrito, which was absolutely delicious. It was packed with fresh ingredients and had a perfect balance of flavors that left me wanting more.

However, the coffee didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I found it to be a bit on the weak side, albeit flavorful, but lacking the boldness I usually prefer.

Overall, the quality of the food was excellent, and the ambiance was charming, making it a nice spot to relax. That said, I did find the cost of 2 coffees & two burritos to be on the over-priced side of my wallet, which might give some pause. If you’re in the area, I would still recommend trying the breakfast burrito, but you might want to consider your coffee options elsewhere.

Great food! I had the avocado toast! It has a watermelon radish on top with pickled red onion avocado. I believe it also has goat cheese! I will put this up against just about any avocado toast in the Phoenix area.
We also had the locks bagel! Fresh salmon capers, Red Onion, tomato on a great bagel!

Every time we have coffee here it’s amazing. They take their time and they make quality espresso beverage

Such a cute quaint local coffee shop! The storefront was super clean, decorated well and has great curb appeal. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating available. They brew their own coffee beans and the coffee is amazing. The freshness of the coffee is what makes this coffee shop stand out from its competitors. During my visit, I also tried an apple blueberry muffin which was very moist, fresh and delicious. They offer many gluten free options and a full breakfast menu! I highly recommend this local gem!

This is your local coffee shop. The coffee is the best, baked goods made with love and the staff are always ready to make your day even better. The amount of time and funds they give back to the community are immense. Farm fresh eggs are often available to purchase by donation to that month’s cause. Try it once and you’ll never go anywhere else!

A cute coffee shop with quick and friendly service. I was in the area and just stopped for a quick bagel and tea. Was a peaceful place to stop and delicious food. The bagel had a nice crispy outside and chewy inside with the right amount of flavor.
Tips:
– most of the seating is outside but is quiet with seating all around and there are a few inside too.
– menus near the door to browse
