It was our first time trying Venezuelan food so we only tried the arepas. The arepas were so good and well stuffed. So filling. Will love to go back soon and try more of their items on their menu! I tried the arepa de pabellón and my husband tried the chicken arepa. Both are soooo delicious. Would definitely recommend!

I finally got around to coming here. Hours are a little weird. It says they close at 7:30 PM on Google but at 7 PM on their website and Yelp. To be on the safe side, come here before 7 PM. The parking lot is shared in this little plaza. Spaces are limited. Inside the restaurant has plenty of tables to dine in. You order first, then sit down and wait, and you pay when you’re finished eating. I ordered tequenos with cheese, chicken arepa, cordon bleu with chicken empanada, the trio with beef, cheese, plantain, and sugar cane with lime drink. The service was great. The staff was very kind and attentive. Prices were cheap and food portions were big. The staff knows some English, so better brush off on your Spanish from school. Or you can just point.
-tequenos with cheese 5 – very cheesy and addicting.
-chicken arepa 5 – way better than the ones I had at Top Arepa in Schaumburg. This arepa does not crumble so easily, it holds everything inside very well.
-cordon bleu with chicken empanada 5 – crunchy exterior with loads of chicken inside.
-trio with beef, cheese, and plantain empanada 5 – crunchy and very flavorful. This one was my favorite.
-sugar cane with lime drink 5 – very tasty drink. I could drink a gallon of this. Not sweet at all.

Stopped by here and the staff was very kind and passionate. The food was outstanding and so delicious. I ordered a Trio empanada and Mechada Arepas. The Avocado dipping sauce was very good. Just one of these would have been enough for lunch. 10 stars if I could give it. Definitely will be back when im in the area.

I can’t explain how good the food at this restaurant is. The empanadas are soooo good!!!! My partner and I have tried pretty much all the Venezuelan restaurants in the suburbs and in Chicago and this place is by far the best! So far we have tried the ground beef, chicken, cheese and the trio empanadas… my gosh the flavors are so good! Everything was seasoned so delicious! We also tried the tequeños, and again, these were the best we have tried, the cheese they use tastes like the cheese in Venezuela. I was so happy I haven’t eaten this good, or tried so authentic flavors since I left Venezuela. The staff were very nice and friendly. The owner was so sweet and gave us to try a bite of freshly baked cachitos

The arepa was fantastic and very filling. The papelon was unlike anything I’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious and refreshing. Tried the tequeguava. I’m not a big guava fan but the combo with the cheese was salty and sweet and I ate more of those than I should have. Definitely recommend this place!

Oh. My. Gosh. OH MY GOSH. We adore holes in the wall and this one did NOT disappoint. Didn’t get any photos because we were so hungry, but this place has such amazing food!! We got four empanadas: two beef, one chicken, and one cheese and plantain, as well as a serving of beans. That doesn’t seem like a lot but it was so filling and tasty! The crust was perfect, the beans were so super flavorful, and that green sauce was sublime – it paired so well with everything. Try to get some to take home, it’s so good.

Honestly, it’s one of my favorite spots, because of the food, the service, and the owner who’s a great person. The golfeados, the empanadas and tequeños were amazing, you have to try them all. You can really feel the love they put into everything, from the service, to the food. Caratos has definitely become one of my favorite places.

So many good things to say about this place! The service on charge of the owners is amazing, you feel like home and they are so kind and friendly. We ordered tequeños, empanadas and papelon con limon, 10/10 on everything! You NEED to order the trío empanada, you did not regret, trust me. The prices are affordable and we walk out with a smile in our faces.
