We split the balsamic vegan steak tacos. They were AMAZING! We needed something quick and not too heavy since we’re having an anniversary dinner later. We’ve seen great reviews, and since we’re vegetarian, we decided to try it out. So glad we did!! That cats are in a closed in area where you can see them. They are AdOrAbLe! We didn’t do the encounter, we just watched through the glass, since there were people already in there. Such a unique place and great food. We’ll definitely be back and looking forward to trying more of the food.

First of all, the FOOD?!? is INCREDIBLE. Vegetarian all my life and I’ve never been satisfied with any vegan or veggie options restaurants have to offer, until Cara’s. The vegan chik’n tacos are literally unbelievable. The flavor is unmatched. Second of all, I adore Cara and her passion for rescuing cats. The café provides a second chance for these cats to find their happily ever after. You can tell how grateful and well taken care of they are. We need more Cara’s in the world. Third of all, Cara whips up the most incredible drinks! From mochas to matchas, everything is so so good and reasonably priced! 1000/10 recommend. I will drive way out of my way to support Cara’s café, that’s how much I love it.

My husband and I were vacationing in Destin, Florida and looking for a good cup of coffee.
After a quick Google search I was intrigued by this cafe, it’s great ratings and the opportunity to visit with some kitties while I relaxed and enjoyed my beverage.
Cara’s cat Cafe did not disappoint, both of our coffees were delicious.
Parking was abundant (directly outside the entrance the day we went). Customer service was fast, friendly and engaging. I thought the pricing of the coffee was very reasonable.
The best part of this visit was the half hour we paid to visit with the cats. Be sure to call or look on the website to find out information about this experience as there are restrictions as to age and reservations are recommended (but not required).
All of the cats were well-mannered and it was fun watching them play together and with their toys. Some allowed us to pet them and others just relaxed in their little houses or platforms. There was no foul odors that sometimes accompany cat areas (if you know what I mean). It was clean and well-stocked with things for the cats to play in, toys to play with and places for the shy cats to hide. Cara has thought of everything all the way down to the hand sanitizer at the entrance to the cat area for you to use upon entry and exiting.
At the “tail” end of our visit (pun intended), one of the kitties was curious about my drink and I was lucky enough to get a photo of him what appears to be drinking my coffee
I enjoyed this the coffee and the experience so much that I went back the next day just for coffee ~ again, DELICIOUS!
This was one of the highlights of our trip.
I hope if you’re looking at these reviews that you choose this place because it really was fun and great coffee.
We already had meal plans so we didn’t get to try the food but the next time we’re in Destin we definitely will.

Took 3 teen girls to celebrate birthdays. Easy to book slots to visit with cats. We got there a little early so we could get something to drink & eat first. Everyone got fancy coffee. We also got Hot Honey Pizza, croissant, Chicken Avocado Panini, cheese pizza. All items delicious! My Brown Sugar Latte was one of the best coffees I’ve ever had. Nice selection of cat related items like earrings, pins, T shirts available for purchase. Facility very clean. Was told they have a separate vent system for the cat room. Great place to watch cats if you have allergies & can’t get near them. The girls had a great time & would love to go again

What a lovely concept! I’m not local so not in the market for adoption but if you’re local, you can adopt! I went in for a coffee and to visit with the cats. Super sweet staff and very clean place. So grateful I found this place. If you love cats like me, stop in! You will not be disappointed.

Drinks were awesome and Dixie was the sweetest little thing. I’m allergic to cats and I stayed as long as I could because of how much of a chill, comforting environment it was. The staff was also amazing throughout our stay.

Destin’s only cat café is truly something special. This husband and wife team created a warm, welcoming space with the beautiful mission of helping cats become more adoptable through play, socialization, and positive human interaction. You can feel the love and intention behind everything they do. The cats are clearly well cared for, happy, and comfortable, and every visit feels meaningful. A must visit for cat lovers and anyone who believes in adoption and supporting a local business with heart.

For the past few years my family has been going to Destin for new years and I was looking up new things we could try this time around. I came across Cara’s Cat Cafe on TikTok and immediately booked a reservation for us online. Both the lounge and cafe areas are decorated beautifully. The spaces are very clean and cozy. The lighting and the music make for a very chill and relaxing environment. As someone with sensory issues I found the overall atmosphere to be very pleasant! We had lots of fun meeting all the cats which we had an hour to interact with. They even give out treats so you can feed them. Abe (pictured) was our personal favorite of the bunch. He stole our hearts and most of our treats. After cuddling with the kitties we headed over to the cafe area for some food. I ordered the vegan buffalo chicken tacos with a merry berry latte and my sister got the french toast with a Flora matcha. Both taste and presentation wise all the food was amazing! The merry berry was I think one of the best lattes I’ve ever had. Lots of unique and creative drink options and lots of vegan and vegetarian friendly food options. There’s also a little gift shop full of cat memorabilia and paintings for sale made by local artists. Even if reservations are full or you don’t want to go into the cat lounge for whatever reason there is a big window next to the dining area so you can still peak in at the cats while you eat. If I lived nearby I’d probably come here all the time to do work or sketch. The cafe partners with two local shelters to help find homes for the cats and they all seemed very happy and well taken care of. I’ve been to lots of cat cafes back home but none of them quite compare to the well rounded experience you get at Cara’s.
