Ready to come back
1. It is homey and fancy at the same time, things that don’t usually go together. But I can’t believe how enjoyable it was to be there for a third time. The place is so interesting, I rarely wasn’t looking around.
2. The food is just impeccable and original. Even though it is hard enough to achieve a flavorful dish, to achieve it in such and original and creative way, just left me flabbergasted.
3. The service is just “extra”. But not in a bad way, in an incredibly enjoyable way. The waitress got out of her way to explain to my friend how the fish was brought fresh, and was answering questions for almost five minutes, and she did it with smile. Also, the waitress knew exactly what she was selling. She was more of a connoisseur than a waitress! She new words I had to look up in order to understand the description of the flavor of the sauce of a dish, and I am a very literate person in “food” language.
4. The valet parking was perfect, almost no delay, thanks to the proximity of the parking place.
Disclaimer, the pictures were taken the first time I went. The second and third I didn’t had my phone with me. And didn’t have the opportunity to take a picture of the menu. But believe me, it is expensive, be prepared.
I’ll come back whenever I visit Monterrey again for sure!

As we were somewhat full, we skipped to dessert, where we had the guava pie, served with some sort of buñuelos on the side. The combination made total sense once tried altogether (I would’ve enjoyed a bit more guava, though).
Wine list is filled with Mexican options —which made me happy and proud—, and we of course went for the Vena Cava’s sauvignon blanc. I also saw that they do some “Cider Saturdays”, which sound interesting (and I saw you can try Vena Cava’s Amber wine –one of Mexico’s top organic wines, if that’s your thing).
Service was excellent, attentive and even fun.
My only complaint is regarding the reservations. We had booked a table beforehand and still had to wait for half an hour to get our seats. There were lots of people waiting, which makes me guess the waiting is a constant issue. Come prepared, but it’ll be worth the wait.
