Captain’s Daughter is located inside The Westin, which I didn’t realize at first. I went on a Saturday night around 7:30pm and parking wasn’t the easiest—ended up using valet for $20.
Once inside, the vibe was nice, but the service was a bit slower than expected, especially since it wasn’t very busy at the time. That said, the food and drinks were quite delightful.
The crab dip could use a bit more crab, but the overall flavor was still solid. My favorite dish was the wedge salad, which was accompanied by crab—and I added salmon, which really made it a standout. The ribeye was okay flavor-wise, but the presentation felt a bit off. It was very oily and spilled onto the table, so a different plating approach might help.
Overall, I’d go back if I’m in the area—definitely some highlights and potential to improve.

Dined at The Captain’s Daughter at the Westin Annapolis yesterday and left extremely disappointed and honestly shaken.
I ordered the salmon with sweet potato and wild rice, and there was plastic in the wild rice that I almost ate. That’s not just “gross” — that’s dangerous. I could’ve choked, and it’s unacceptable for any restaurant, especially one inside a Westin.
I immediately made the staff aware, and Executive Chef Dennis came out to apologize — but then he told me this has happened not too long ago. Hearing that made the situation even worse, because it suggests this isn’t a one-time mistake. He asked if I wanted something else to eat, but after admitting this has happened recently, I did not feel comfortable ordering anything else. Once trust is broken like that, it’s done.
To make matters worse, when my husband and I were ready to pay and leave, it took over 30 minutes just to check out. We were told the wait staff was busy delivering room service, and when I asked the bartender to help us, he seemed clueless on how to check us out.
Overall, the experience made it clear the team needs more training in food preparation, attention to detail, and basic hospitality/service flow. We specifically traveled to the Westin to dine here after reading great reviews, and this was the complete opposite of what we expected.

Me and my family went for my nieces birthday and it wasn’t a great experience. My husband ordered the crab dip for his app and it was zero seasoning. My niece (3yrs old) had the spaghetti and meatballs and the meatballs were completely raw in the middle. My other niece (birthday girl) ordered tenders and fries and the breading was falling off the chicken. I ordered the salmon and it was still raw on the bottom. My husband also order the chicken and his rainbow cauliflower was burnt. My sister ordered the surf and turf and her turf was dry and had no flavor. Her best friend ordered a burger and it was also dry. Now on to the service the only complaint we have about her was that she kept forgetting things and took forever to give us our check. The atmosphere was pretty good seeing that it in a hotel lobby. Overall the only thing that was some what good was the service like I said before and the ice cream my niece had for dessert which she said kinda tasted freezer burnt… I would not come back to this restaurant.

I originally saw this place on Instagram. A influencer made a video showcasing this restaurant and it looked really intimate, high class and the food looked great might I add .My partner called and made reservations and lol is all I could really do upon arrival. This restaurant is a typical bar restaurant a hotel where you saw people working on their laptops relaxing. The space was open and cozy but I will say we were VERY overdressed and there was no need for a reservation. We made the best of it because a date is a date right? Lol. I ordered the roasted chicken and potatoes ( opted out of the cauliflower)… The chicken was grilled , not roasted but very moist. Potatoes were lovely. I give my meal a 7/10. My partner ordered the crab dip and Turkey wrap with sweet potatoe fries . He loved the crab dip, liked the fries and absolutely hated the wrap. He said the avocado had no seasoning at all and the turkey tasted funny. He rated the crab dip a 9, sweet potato fries a 7 but the Turkey wrap a 1. He also ordered a old fashion that was made nicely. Our waitress(im sorry I forgot her name but she has blonde hair with a ponytail) was EXTREMELY NICE. Great service! 10/10. Overall I think this is a place you just go if you’re out shopping and need something to eat but definitely NOT a place you go for a intimate setting for a date night.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!! We had to wait 20 minutes before our waiter even came up and introduced himself. Didn’t even offer us some water. We placed our WHOLE order at the beginning when we ordered our drinks and it literally took over 30 minutes to get our starter salad( that was after I had to ask the manager for the salads. Then it took another 30 minutes for our food to come and when it did the order was wrong. Other couples at different tables experienced the same thing and a couple even left mid dinner because the service was soo bad. Then the dessert was burnt and I couldn’t even eat it and to accommodate my waiter just offered me more ice cream. All and all this restaurant was not prepared for a major night like valentines night and I would highly not recommend this restaurant if it’s a holiday or busy. The manager also acted as if she didn’t care how anyone was being served and brushed off any complaint that was given to her by other couples.

My wife and I have given this place three tries. The third time was our final time. The service is simply awful. During our first two visits we remained patient and waited at least 15 minutes to be served at the bar. The last time we went, we grabbed two open seats at the bar and waited. After three different bartenders avoided making eye contact and keeping themselves busy with organizing liquor bottles, we decided to leave. A note to management–if you don’t get your staff aligned to a service oriented business, you will not attract locals to your establishment.

This was our first visit to Captain’s Daughter, as we were celebrating our marriage anniversary. The ambiance and decor were nice. However, although the restaurant was “open” for service, they weren’t “prepared” for service. After the front desk clerk went to find the server, the server arrived and seemed to be surprised by our presence, although we had a scheduled reservation.
Shortly after being seated and perusing the menu, we ordered Prosecco and Brut…Brut wasn’t available. She-crab soup…not available. “Today’s soup” was listed as “Chef-Inspired”, but the server said it was just Chicken Noodle Soup.
We finally ordered something that was available: “Crab Cake Sandwich” and “Bang Bang Shrimp Tostada”. The crab cake sandwich was very bready with a thin, soggy crab patty.
However the fries that were served with the sandwich were great, and the Bang Bang Tostada was delicious.
This experience dampened that part of our anniversary celebration so we will probably not return. However, we appreciate the server for acknowledging the issues and comping the 2nd drink.

Highly Recommend!!!!! The staff especially, Terry our waiter was absolutely AMAZING!!!! The surf and turf, drinks, crab dip and asparagus were delicious!!!!!!!! Atmosphere and staff were unforgettable!!!!
