Ok, so I drove an hour to try this. Moved to NV about 6 months ago and have searched high & low for southern fried fish that is not catfish and it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack, literally. Well I finally found a place and they did not disappoint at all. Was fresh (fish and grease), and it was greasy nor was it soggy by the time I got it home. Not as crispy but it held it down for that hour drive. I def had to taste sample before I made it home which is how I know lol. Just delicious! They cook to order, very friendly and explained everything and they have the “crack seasoning”…may have to be from the east side of the nation to understand this. It’s a lemon pepper blend that compliments fried fish and chicken perfectly when made correctly
The beautiful young lady who took our order also said they do Chicago style. I recently no longer eat chicken, which is the best Chicago style. I would highly recommend if you have ever had Harold’s chicken in Chicago. Maybe try on the side to see if you like it. Anyways, thank you for giving me the taste of home I have been craaaaaving . I will be doing this hour drive quite often (2 hours both ways) so worth it. Only suggestion, sell me a small side of the seasoning because I need like extra extra on my fish Thank you guys.

I ordered catfish and the jumbo shrimp. These are soo good! The portions are huge. The batter is light and does not overpower the fish. I love the texture of the batter, I think it has corn meal in it which I like. The lemon pepper seasoning is just right! Im excited tk try their other stuff.

Cap Sam’s has good quick fried food (chicken & fish) you can order pickup or delivery. It’s in a convenience store so do not expect to sit and be served. The staff are friendly but really about getting orders out. The banana pudding is delicious!

We went for the 1st time ..ordered the big 5 and the shrimp meals. Everything tasted the same cooked in same batter an old oil ..not to mention I tipped 3 dollars and heard the guy that was cooking say “oh she won’t be getting any extras”. Like you aren’t serving me at a table ..so any tip should be appreciated. Spent 43 bucks, …just want to say never again, the foog wasn’t good to me or my husband. Yuk

Been thinking about trying this place because the pics of the food looked very tasty. And I work on that side of town. So 11/7 after work I decided to go. The parking lot was pretty full. And many people were waiting inside. I was hesitant, but the smell of the food made me order. So I got the 3 piece fish & 3 piece whole chicken wings. For $20.11. I think the price was very reasonable. I had No sides. Once I got home, I really was not that hungry. So the next day I reheated the fish. And was surprised to say it was very well seasoned & fried like I like my catfish. The next day I reheated my 3 wings and I will just say they have a return customer. Very well seasoned & fried to my liking as well. That is why I gave 5 stars for food. I gave 4 stars because it was a little of a wait time. But it was crowed. The atmosphere got 3 because the staff did not smile more. But I will be going back and I would recommend the chicken & the catfish hands down it was fresh and served hot.

Oh my the seasoning of the food with lemon pepper is so delicious. The moment I took my first bite of fries I knew everything else was gonna be just great. I ordered the 1/2 lb of catfish nuggets dinner, comes with fries and a side of macaroni or coleslaw (I got macaroni) and 2 slices of bread, 2 jumbo shrimp, 2 wings, Banana pudding a slice of lemon cake free. Everything I mean everything was really really great fried to perfection. U have the option of fried hard or soft having extra lemon pepper seasoning or Chicago style not sure what that is yet.
Overall I’m content with what I ate and this will definitely be a spot I will check out again when in the mood for some seafood.

A little hole in the wall place. The food was good and loved the seasoning on the jumbo shrimp and hush puppies and wings. The fried catfish was soggy and went to waste all 6 pieces, I’d recommend you ask them to cook it longer. The shrimp, wings and hush puppies were fire tho. They give you alot of fries enough to feed 5, I’d say. The customer Service was poor, it almost felt like they didn’t want to help us or take our order. The lady there “the Auntie” seemed very rude as well. They also don’t seem to like to cash you out on your winnings from the slot, and have to keep asking to cash out, as she kept helping other customers…. very poor customer service!!!
