This restaurant had been recommended to us. We are definitely glad we went. We had an amazing server and our view was spectacular. I ordered the Crab Melt and my husband had the Sampler Platter off the appetizer menu as well as a cup of the clam chowder. He said the clam chowder had a lot of clams in it and was very delicious. His Sampler Platter was huge so we ended up taking leftovers off our. My Crab Melt was also delicious. There are a lot of choices on the Spit but we are glad we ate here.

So much to love at this place. Amazing Halibut fish and chips and the chowder was to die for! The views were also great from virtually every table. Jamie, our server was fast and friendly. Ice cold beer (literally with ice on the glass). The one negative was that this is a pricey place, but it’s on the spit so pretty much expected.

Excellent! I ordered the fried halibut, excellent. My husband ordered the char-grilled seafood sampler, perfection (picture failed). The chowder, also included with the meals was excellent, as well.
Updated: We were so impressed with the char-grilled seafood sampler, that we returned the next day and shared (now pictured). And ordered the smoked salmon dip, which was absolutely delicious! Until we return again, Captain Patties!

This was a great seafood restaurant on the Homer Spit to enjoy a good meal after a day of hiking across the bay. I had the seafood platter which included grilled halibut, grilled salmon, shrimp, and scallops, along with a cup of seafood chowder and a baked potato. Everything was absolutely delicious! I only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. Service was great, and the views of the bay out the windows were nice too. I’m goad to have stumbled across this place!

Great location, stunning ocean view. Unfortunately, the kitchen doesn’t live up to the atmosphere.
I ordered a seafood combination with grilled shrimp, scallops, halibut, and salmon. The halibut and salmon arrived completely dried out from over-grilling.
The meal was so disappointing I couldn’t finish it.
While the service staff was attentive and the waterfront location is beautiful, you’re paying premium prices for a view rather than quality food. There are better options that do justice to the local catch.

Captain Patties… I was stalking this place well before we arrived in Homer and it did NOT disappoint. The views are unmatched, and the clam chowder was so rich and creamy ( LOTS OF BACON).
We shared the grilled fish platter, and were able to try halibut, salmon, shrimp, and scallops. If I did it again, I honestly would have ordered a whole plate of scallops! They were cooked perfectly, and had a buttery flavor to them. Even the fries and the tartar sauce did not fail with impressing my tastebuds. LOL.
We did arrive right at 11am when they opened, so the vibe was a little off. (Music was 2000’s raps)… but my fiancé and I laughed it off. I mean we were in Homer, looking at these views? Come on.

We went there in July 2024. Starting with the view, it was stunning. I was trying Halibut for the first time and I feel like I tried it in one of the best places in the halibut capital. And the second item was salmon which was also equally good. The service was good but I would say that the atmosphere can be improved a little. The outside view was good, but inside was not that peace and quiet. Even though I enjoyed my food, but with less noises the experience would have been spectacular.

This place is worth going to for the view alone. However, the service was top notch and the fish and chips were delicious. The tartar sauce is made with dill and pairs nicely with the fried halibut. Our waitress was outstanding and would only want her waiting on us if we make it back that way.

HUGE portions with unbelievable flavor! This was my best meal to date on our 3 week driving adventure from Illinois to Alaska. The stuffed mushrooms were the absolute best we have ever had!!!

What a cool view while you eat fresh seafood.
I spent $77 for just myself, ordering the Char Seafood Combo, w/ coleslaw, and I opted for the chowder over the salad, and one draft beer.
The beer was not very cold. But local to AK, so I enjoyed it.
The chowder was only just warm. The flavor was great, but the potatoes were rather large and it was hard to tell the difference between the bacon and the minimal amount of razor clams.
The combo plate was pretty lack luster in presentation considering the cost of $41. The coleslaw was typical, but not disappointing.
The seafood was all good quality food, but lacked salt or any flavor. It would be nice to have a sauce option or more than one lemon slice.
Overall worth the experience, but don’t expect anything but high turnover food for tourists.
Not much thought to the dishes.
Service was super friendly and fast, I did have to ask for napkins and silverware after my meal and soup had been delivered.
