We had a wonderful experience here. The staff is friendly, efficient and everyone has a great attitude. The food was delicious. We tried the raw oysters, crab dip, broiled scallops, steamed shrimp, snow crab legs, cole slaw, hush puppies, crab cakes, crab balls, and fried seafood platter…. everything was great. The hush puppies were crispy on the outside and moist and tender inside, the best I’ve had. It was obvious by the crowd that this is a popular place, even though it’s off the beaten path. We got there early and had about a 10-15 minute wait. (Worth the wait). Will definitely eat here again!

My dad was raving about this place, saying him and my mom went. So he wanted to go for dinner.
Excellent service, good prices, and delicious food.

Today’s special was a crab cake, steamed or fried shrimp, 3 hush puppies, and two sides for $20. Two in our party ordered the special and loved it.

I got the rockfish dinner, 2 hush puppies, and 2 sides. The rockfish was fried and cooked perfectly. Very flaky and delicious. The hush puppies were 11/10 perfection. They were so flavorful and the texture was perfection. Highly recommend. I got the corn and baked potato and the corn wasn’t my type of dish, as it seemed to have a sweetness to it almost like syrup added. But everything else was great.

We also ordered the steamed shrimp. They were cooked very well (not well done; just like cooked good lol) and we enjoyed them!

I would definitely recommend and will likely go back next time I’m in town visiting my parents again!

My experience was really bad cause the seafood platter is completely crap, shrimps and scallops were overcooked and definitely cooked in old oil,no sause for this dish also. Overpriced for this size of dish. Our waitress tried to do the best but she couldn’t fix the food. You can find dirty places inside the building. The location is awesome im sorry that food in this place so bad. Kids play zone is terrible and also with no cover of the sun. Disappointed.

I called 10 different seafood restaurants/markets searching for soft shell crab after the us national oyster festival. Captain pat’s answered and I drove right over. Delicious delicious crab and so juicy. Eating that crab almost felt as good as getting head for the first time in my Porsche. There are also some nice boats to check out on the dock.

We drove down from Alexandria to explore the town of Solomons and surrounding area today. After checking out the town and marinas, an early seafood dinner was next. Captain Pat’s Seafood restaurant popped up, complete with 5-star reviews, and we headed down there via lovely winding country roads.
WOW. We were not disappointed! After joking with Ashley (our on-the-ball server and Capt Pat’s wonderful wife) about my longing for raw oysters and seldom finding anywhere that knew how to serve them correctly, I decided to put them to the test. Within 10 mins a dozen raw arrived at our table, perfectly served very chilled on a bed of ice, with lemon slices, cocktail & horseradish sauce, and crackers on the side. They were delicious, and washed down with a Yuengling served in an ice cold beer glass – this team knows how to do it right!
My daughter had the crab dip starter, served with hot buttered seasoned french bread. It was exquisite.
Buoyed by the success of these starters, there was no stopping us – we each dived into “Pat’s Pick ‘em Platters”, my daughter with the fried shrimp & crab balls, and me with the steamed shrimp & clam strips. All very good. Half way through all of that, we had to accept that our initial very keen appetites may have over-estimated our internal ‘capacity capability’!
No worries, sturdy take-out containers magically appeared, and I ordered the 8-layer Smith Island Cake to go. It later proved to be as yummy as I could have hoped for.
All the seafood served at Captain Pat’s is fresh and never frozen, and locally sourced. They make the effort to do even the small things that make privately-owned restaurants special, like mixing their own cocktail & horseradish sauce, and from our server to our busser, to the oysters personally shucked by Captain Pat himself, one can tell that all the staff at Captain Pat’s take tons of pride in everything they do for their customers.
Prices are very reasonable for fresh local seafood, see the photos of the menus I supplied for details. Tons of free parking is directly outside, and a quaint marina with bobbing sailboats waits for you to stroll around after your meal.
Our dinner at Captain Pat’s wasn’t just dinner, it was a fun, delightful and delicious casual dining experience that my daughter and I will remember. We will certainly be back when next in the area.
Congratulations to Captain Pat, Ashley, and all the staff for making our day, cheers!
PS: In case you were wondering – No, I am never compensated or influenced by anyone for my reviews, I just love promoting local businesses who take the trouble to go the extra mile for their customers. I encourage you to please do the same.

We had an absolutely fantastic family time here. The food was incredibly delicious and the prices were fair. The view and location are simply stunning. It was our first time trying crab, and I think we were the first Turkish customers they’ve had 🙂
A special shout-out to our waitress, Ashley. She was so amazing and helpful, both in helping us pick our dishes and teaching us how to eat the crab. Thank you, Ashley, for your honest and genuine hospitality. Even though it’s a 2-hour drive, we’ll definitely be back soon!

My wife really liked her snow crabs, and my fried oysters were equally as good. The cole slaw was another pleasant surprise.

Captain Pat’s doesn’t miss a beat regardless of party size. A hidden gem with great food (with choices for the non seafood type) in a great location with awesome staff and service!! And it’s an awesome place because there’s a fellow Master Chief Chick Chief there !!!
