Tried it twice. The first visit was okay, and the waitress was great. The Hawaiian Turkey was actually excellent on that trip.
Prices are good, and the service is average. Can be slow to get drinks and the check.
But…second visit is why I can’t recommend to friends. They can’t make an old-fashioned…worst thing I may have ever tasted with alcohol! Came in a barely filled plastic cup and tasted like grapefruit juice.
Patty melt, and the wife’s burger lacked any flavor. Was very odd. Like a frozen Sam’s Club patty.
French fries were so disgusting! A small handful for $3 and smelled and tasted like fish. My fingers stunk until I washed them with toothpaste like I had just been cleaning fish.
If the McQuires own this place, it is nothing like the 2 Taylor bars. I guess it doesn’t have to be with so few options in the area and Waterfront being sold and slipping downhill..
This is a beer drinking bar. The End.
9/19/2024 Response to owners: I know you don’t serve fish. That is what was so puzzling. I have never had french fries anywhere that smelled or tasted like that. Was the oddest thing.
The muddled citrus in an Old Fashioned was the bigger disappointment.
We will try again sometime because the first visit was pretty good. FWIW My benchmark for Patty Melts is the original JPs on Goddard. Last one was absolutely amazing.
