At our Burnet, TX location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Great food and great service! We came here after church and there was no wait, so that was nice. We ordered the sampler platter and wild salmon and both were amazing. It’s definitely a good place to visit again.

To be honest it’s pretty average fare. I kind of put it on par with Long John silvers. Crab cakes. But they tasted okay. Honestly though the shrimp are tiny. The fish is the exact same thing that you get at Long John silver but it was the best thing on the plate they were pretty tasty. They also have a new lobster roll which honestly leaves a lot to be desired very little meat and there about 3 in Long.

Bad….Didn’t care for the stuffed crab shells with imitation crab. We sat in the drive-thru line for 15 minutes.
But everything else was good. Lady at the window was nice and attentive. Loved the funnel cake sticks! Even with the long wait, I’d return.

SENIOR FRIENDLY MENU EACH WEDNESDAY AND SUNDAY. This is a good place to get your fish fix. They offer a number of plates priced under $7. We go here at least once or twice a week and like the food and staff.

We dont have Captain D’s where Im from but I see commercials on TV frequently. So when I was near this location I drove a little out of the way to check it out.
I figured since I dont normally get a chance to eat here I needed to try as much as I could. I ordered a combo plate that included fried fish, shrimp, stuffed crab, hushpuppies, coleslaw, corn and a side of lobster bisque.
Needless to say I had leftovers. The fried items were really good, the fish and the shrimp especially. The stuffed crab was decent, and the lobster bisque was just OK, I wasnt impressed by it and probably wouldnt order that item again.
The selection of items on the menu here is pretty extensive, since this visit I have visited another location in another city and tried even more items.
The service here was good, food came out fairly quick despite the lunch rush, and everything was fresh. The portion size for the combo was good, the price was fair.
I would return to this location again, and to try some more items.

We used to have a Captain D’s where I grew up, but it closed, and I haven’t eaten at a Captain D’s in almost 30 years. I drove an hour and twenty minutes just to come to this one. All I can say is it’s still the same, took me back to when I was a kid. I’m gonna have to make this drive again. The staff were very patient with me.

I love seafood! I was excited that this town had a Captain D’s because I hadn’t been to one in years. The young lady who assisted us was very friendly. She had such a great attitude. Having superb customer service makes the food that much more enjoyable. The food tasted great and was fresh. Too bad there’s not a Captain D’s where we live in Temple TX

Been a D’s fan since 1982 in charleston sc, they are in Houston and Dallas area’s, was surprised to see one in Burnet. This location clean friendly and not exaggerating THE BEST BATTERED DISH OF MY 63 YRS, Don’t know why other locations are not as good, if you are anywhere near Burnet, you have to eat there.

I’m from NC I live in San Antonio and this was the closest location I ordered the ultimate seafood platter and it was all bread battered half cooked very greasy I got there around 9:20 pm and I went to the drive thru all I know how to describe the person is she had big breast small lady I came July 28,2023 her attitude was good and u would think my food would have been great it was very very very greasy batter tasted uncooked garlic shrimp and popcorn shrimp taste frozen with freezer burn hush puppies looked like they were cooked 2 hrs prior it’s just a shame why would ppl want someone to eat wat they wouldn’t eat I drove wasted gas and I literally spent almost $25 order was $21 and some change I bought my grandson the 2 piece shrimp meal and his food was wasted because it was not done the battered fish r shrimp but let me tell u lady God gonna fix it in the name of Jesus because of your wrongdoing on how you treat ppl I will be back that way some day when I see you I want my money back and f?? the food I’m also calling your manager today baby which is the July 29 you shall get reported I need to call corporate on u don’t let me go there just have my mulah baby
