At our Ft. Worth TX location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I ordered the fried clams. They came in a tiny Styrofoam bowl. For what I paid I thought I would’ve gotten like a bigger takeout sized box. The food was just OK.

We stopped by on a whim one evening and it was such a great experience! The guy working the register (wish I’d gotten his name) was very polite and helpful, he even opened the box to show us our order before we left. A+ customer service! The food was delicious too, definitely coming back.

Food control cost are very evident here at this small box location with about 20 seats . No pump for condiments or self serve drinks . The menu is different no combo plates with drink .Most side items are a 2 filler add on . Burleson and Forest hills location are worth the extra drive . Very few staff members speak fluent English here. It’s clean but they have no volume except drive thru . For some reason the butterfly shrimp are half the size of other stores, perhaps it’s a franchise . If your want extra sauce it’s an extra fee so I’m sure it’s a franchise store. All in I have gone to about half dozen of these store and this in stands out as the worst all around except for cleanliness they are real clean but for a reason . No one eats inside here . I’m not sure if they honor the senior special but I don’t think so they are too money hungry here . Verdict keep on driving up Hulen drive plenty of competition 2 miles away

Y does their chicken and fish consistently taste the same? This evening, it was bad enough i waited awhile 4 my food. I had 2 wait even longer when i realized i didn’t have a receipt! As ever, i was mislead about the price of a meal, prolly y i wasn’t issued a receipt, originally. A dollar extra 4 that pitiful catfish filet, both fish and shrimp were overcooked!

I ordered a 2p fish and 2p chicken combo online. I opened the order at home to find there was no tartar sauce. In my opinion, any food that comes with fish should include tartar sauce. I don’t get food here often as it is costly, so this really ruins my experience as I have to try to eat this fish without sauce and it is inconvenient for me to have to drive back just for sauce.

Food was good but we ordered two side orders of okra at $3.50 each ($7) and it amounted to two half cups of okra in small bowls. I know that eggs are high in price but didn’t realize okra was golden! Skip the okra in the future because they are rationing that stuff! Last time we ordered they left off our hush puppies.

Had me waiting 20 minutes for an uber order. I was told that my order was done and next and 3 orders passed by and nothing. Had to wait ten more minutes and still nothing. The store wasn’t even full. It was empty. September 20, 2025 8pm. I will never come here or recommend anyone here.

Recently a new location for Captain D’S was opened on the corner near Risinger and Hulen. Carodai was at the front counter and helped me out immensely. Miguel was one of the managers overseeing the expediting of the food and ensured my order was correct. I am really pleased with everything at this location!
