At our St Louis, MO location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Shoutout to the crew at Captain D’s! I haven’t been here in forever because of past “soggy” experiences, but today was a total 180. The food was hot, fresh, and actually crunchy (the okra was 10/10). Super clean spot with a great team working the floor. If you haven’t been in a while, this location is definitely doing it right!

The cashier was physicalyl on the job and mentally somewhere else, we had to pull details out of him which was the same experience of the customers after us.
Portion size and food quality needs improvement. Can you find the broccoli or the chicken in the pics?

Whenever I crave delicious grilled fish at a great price, this is my go-to spot! The flavors are incredible, and each bite is a delight. It’s the perfect place to satisfy my taste buds without breaking the bank!

Ordered the 2-piece fish meal with the baked potato and the broccoli. The sign on the counter sign said $ 6.49 but when I got the receipt I noticed that I had been charged $6.99. I went back to the counter and mentioned this to the woman who had taken my order. She punched in the same meal price again and yes it rang upy as $6.99. I pointed out my receipt and asked her what she could do. I simply asked if I could get a refund on the discrepancy. She had to get the manager’s attention and explain what the situation was. The manager grabbed the receipt and immediately tried to point out that I had purchased a baked potato believing that was what the issue was about not bothering to7 listen what her employee was trying to point out about. I mentioned that I knew I had bought the 2 piece meal Along with the baked potato. I simply told her that the issue I had was with the price difference of the meal as advertised and the price I had paid. I made a suggestion that maybe she ought to take the sign down. Her voice got extremely louder and said to me “Don’t try to get smart with me” and immediately swiped the sign off the counter (right in front of other customers watching as it was happenning). I stopped talking and just waited for her to finish her agitated spiel and waited for her to print up a new receipt indicating my refund sent to my card account that I had originally used. My point is that I found myself wondering how many other customers had been buying that same meal for who knows how long without realizing that they were overpaying for their food based on that counter sign.

The young lady who served my wife and I at the window on Monday January the 19th at around 3:00 was very hospitable and kind. It was very refreshing. Tell her to keep up the good work!

Cashier young lady was very nice but the dark skinned lady with the bun on her head and tall dark skinned lady cooking gave off weird vibes. I ordered an extra piece of fish and she didn’t put it with my order. She had this weird look on her face and insisted that I give her my bag back. Like she just couldn’t put it in a separate container. Just the whole atmosphere was off, I prefer the location on the Rock Road. I won’t be back to this one. The restaurant itself could have appeared cleaner inside and out. Also, didn’t like the fact that they apparently ran out of the packets of tartar sauce and had a nasty looking homade version in a coleslaw container. They can do better.

Picked up dinner. The person behind the counter didn’t speak to me. They justed pointed at me, and looked at me like what do you want. Boxes were crushed, sweet rea was only half full. Broccoli was way over cooked.

Haven’t had Captain D’s since early 2000’s. With me working in the area, seen it and was like I must try. If I could give 0 stars I would. The absolute worst food Ive had. Did not finish my platter. Threw it away. Wasted my money.
Drinks sold separate on platters is diabolical. Please do not waste your money on this food. Employees were great and just doing their job.
Owner and management should be held responsible for the awful food being served.

I was sad this location burned down. Fast forward to the summer and it’s back! The placed was packed and workers taking care of the patrons and MY FOOD WAS HOT . There were trainers and managers walking around. Hopefully good things to come. Grand Opening Yall!!!
11/13: A few months later it’s OK. My food was hot but the sides weren’t great. I will come back eventually but will find fish somewhere for now.
